"A fabulous hotel and well worth a stay! We made a last minute booking as a stop off on the motorway - it's about a mile from the M5 but you'd never know it. A beautiful old building and great amenities mean you don't either need or want to go elsewhere. A choice of a fine dining restaurant or the bistro-style Atrium meets all needs. Had it been better weather when we were there we would have loved sitting out on the beautiful terrace and enjoying the garden. I'm very very fussy about hotels and my only complaints were that our room was so far from reception and that the shower tray had a trace of limescale in it but I really am picking at small things as overall this hotel is excellent and great value for money."
"It was a fairly okay stay, but no better than that. We arrived late and left quite early, so we didn't get a chance to use the facilities. The room was reasonably clean although the basin had a crack in it. The shower curtain seemed to be annoyingly clingy. The shower gel bottle pump didn't work. But overall it was ok. Biggest gripe was that the beds were very firm and I really didn't sleep that well.
Breakfast was good, but at £15 a head, it wasn't good value.
Charging £8 for parking was a little cheeky given there was no other option available.
To be honest, I would probably stay at the Premier Inn down the road if I had to stay in the area again."
"The room we booked was spot on until the water failed in the bathroom, there was no water at all after a hour going back and forth talking to reception and staff they said they had found another room two floors up and we could use it's bathroom and keep our room, after some more discussion we said we would move to that room as going back and forth for the bathroom was not practical. When we got to the room it was very poor dust everywhere TV remote taped together and a TV that kept freezing never did get it to work, just one chair to sit on and it looked like it had been thrown out by a charity shop, the bathroom was not suitable as we need a walk in shower, due to the delay in moving us and sorting out our problems it was now to late for us to go out and we still could not get washed, we cancelled our plans for the night. I went back to reception and asked if this was the best and only room available in the hotel and was told that's all we have got, I at this point lost the will to live, I just collected the key cards for the room and handed back the temporary one they had given me. In the morning the manger offered me a discount on another stay or a small refund, what a joke tha staff at night did not have a clue about what they should do or could do without a manager approval. I would never stay there again even if you paid me."
"We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! Perfect location, in the centre of Bristol. Lovely staff, fab room, and the best Espresso Martini you can find in town. We loved sitting in the hotel bar with a drink before heading to bed. Thanks for a lovely stay."
"Staff friendly and helpful on Check in , the rooms and bathrooms definitely need updating which didn’t include breakfast so was quite steep for one night . No air con so it was really hot in the rooms .
It was a good location , no complaints there but I think the room fee was too much considering how much they need modernising ."
"Sadly this is NOT a 4-star hotel. It was perfectly clean and comfortable but without any desirable amenities or luxury. The bar had a very limited drinks menu and the wine I drank was awful."
"We chose the Hilton hotel for our honeymoon stay, the room was spacious and there were some lovely touches like the swans made from towels.
It would have been lovely to relax in the evening by watching TV in bed but the television wasn't working we were told this would be fixed whilst we were out but it didn't happen. However we did have the option to change rooms and we were given free complementary breakfast for the inconvenience.
Room was clean in general bathroom could have been cleaner as a few stray hairs were on the walls of the shower.
Overall we did enjoy our time in Bristol and bath but will probably stay somewhere else next time."
"A perfect stay - modern, spacious, immaculately clean room, excellent housekeeping services. The hotel's in a great location, adjacent to Castle Park and the whole shopping district."
