Second time staying here. We had an event locally that started before check-in time, so we asked to park our car since we were taking Uber. Turns out our room was ready so they let us check in early and keep our stuff safely in the room. They were wonderful! Super clean room again, quiet location, great price. Definitely our go-to in that area to stay!

This has to be the nicest affordable motel I've stayed in. The space was immaculate, everything was new (I learned from elsewhere that this motel had been hit by the tornado back in 2021), and it was very quiet. The only thing about the room is the bed was quite hard, but not unbearable. Check-in was quickish, although a little odd. Normally staff fills out any papers besides signatures or makes a copy of ID but instead I was given a slip with the same information requests listed multiple times and not instructed how much actually needed filled out. It seemed redundant but I also didn't want to leave anything blank so I felt silly either way. Aside from that insignificant notation, this will definitely be my first choice for a stay if we return to Bowling Green again in the future.

I needed a place to stay near my mom's house while my brother and I worked to repair her water. I reserved with Cardinal Motel. I arrived Wednesday night for a late check-in. The person who came out to help me was unfriendly, and when I tried to ask about internet she pointed to the door and told me "You can go now" three times in a row, so I left instead of pushing harder. Probably should have. I was told that this was the hotel where parolees were first released for a place to stay. The room was clean as was the outside, but there were a lot of full rooms with no cars. My brother arrived to help me, and I did not know that he and his girlfriend were traveling together. They arrived Thursday morning, with her registered service dog. I did not know about the dog coming, so apparently I was put in a Non-pet room, and even though the site says pet friendly, I was charged for the service dog. The dog just came into the room during the visit on Thursday, but did not stay overnight. Although I didn't like how it was handled, I'm not going to challenge the $75 fee, but I do want to warn those with service animals that you will pay a fee regardless . I thought that is not legal, but I am not certain. Here is where it got strange. I was told that they have video proof of the animal in my room. Does that mean there are cameras in the rooms?

I am so sorry for the inconvenience we have caused during your stay. Some things to note are that although your brother came and helped you during your visit, his dog was not permitted because it was not checked in under your name. We are a pet friendly hotel as long as the animal is checked in with pet fees and a deposit. You claim your animal was a service animal but we are not allowed the take your word without proper documentation. It took our housekeeping roughly 2 hours to clean the room properly due to the fact that their was dog hair all over the carpet, floors, and the bed. You stated you were told that we have video proof of the animal in your room, that does not mean we have cameras in your room because that is a privacy concern and common courtesy issue but we have cameras outside the property so we are able to see what goes on outside the room and we were able to see the dog enter the room. We respect the service animals but since we did not have proper proof of the animal being a service animal we did charge pet fees. If you had another persons animal coming into your room, you should have notified the front desk to avoid this situation but you did not.

Great little find!!
Such a great little find! Adorable little motel. On the small side but not uncomfortably so and expected in a traditional motel. beautifully new and well maintained. Clearly a family business and staff was so friendly, helpful and kind. Super convenient to campus, food and shopping. Amazing value for the price!

What a stellar motel! I can’t give this place a higher rating. I stopped here for an overnight stay during the Thanksgiving holiday. I only stayed long enough to shower and sleep, and it was kind of a bummer because this is the kind of place you WANT to stay a little longer! My hotel room was recently renovated, very clean, and very modern. If you look at the pictures of the King rooms in the review photos you’ll see a beautifully furnished, contemporary room. That’s exactly what you get, but it’s just so much cuter in person! I was so pleased with my stay. The shower was brand new, large, and SO clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everything about this motel exceeded my expectations. If I’m ever driving through this part of the country again I will stay here with absolutely no hesitation! I might even go an hour out of my way, honestly. What a breath of fresh air on cross country road trip! Thank you Cardinal Motel!

Freshly redone
The outside of the motel has been completely updated, as well as the lobby. Our room (103) was 100 percent remodeled. I assume the others were done also. It was so nice to be in a newly done room!

This is my second stay here, and will probably stay again. Early, convenient check in with a friendly staff. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are well lit and a good shower head. Fridge, microwave and a blow dryer come in handy of course.

Very clean and friendly. Beds were very comfortable, the only thing I would say to improve on would be a coffee pot in the room, however Bowling Green has a coffee shop on every corner. We will definitely stay again!

The place was showroom new, which i liked. If i had any tips to share it would be to add a table lamp or 2 because the overhead lighting was really bright and i wanted just a glow in the room while i read and relaxed. The walls are a bit "thin" and i could hear the family of 4 in the next room, not horrible but it was audible. Overall i would stay here again. Good job yall!

Newly-rebuilt motel in which literally EVERYTHING is brand new. Everything worked and was in great shape. Would have liked to see a box of tissues in the room but appreciated the fridge & microwave.

I would of went to a different hotel
When I got there the hotel manager already charged my credit card . I wanted to pay with a different payment than the card that was holding the reservation. I asked him why he charged my card before I got there and he said he always does and that hotels.com gives my card #. I showed him on my reservation for 2 nights 3 adults and 1dog and that I picked to pay when I got there not in advance he said it’s hotels.coms fault not his and he wouldn’t fix it. I talked to the manager on the phone and he then told me that it would be $20 for a pet fee and I could just give it to him in the morning when he got back.I went to the room for the night. In the morning he called me to the office and then tired to accuse me of having a cat in the room which I did not after he seen that I didn’t have a cat he then told me it is $2” a day for the dog and also $50 a day for a pet deposit that he said he would return after he checks the room.I asked him why he didn’t tell me that the night before while I was on the phone and he never answered.He also said that I would have to leave the room for them to clean I told him that I wouldn’t need services only clean towels and he told me no he has to go in. When we returned to the room they turned off the AC and moved/touched all our personal belongings. When we went to check out I had to wait for him the wake up and come check the room to give me back my $100 pet deposit.We left the room extremely clean. The manager and family made me feel unwelcome.

Cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in because it is brand new. I hope it stays that way. Service was ok. It was hard to communicate because staff spoke very little English. While the room was very pretty and clean it only had the bare minimum as far as amenities. No blow dryer(fortunately I brought my own), iron, or ironing board. It did have fridge, microwave & coffee pot. No breakfast. A/C kept cutting off as if it was on a timer so the room temperature was hard to keep consistent. Our room had 2 double beds. One of the beds felt like it was leaning but we moved to the other one which was better. There needs to be wall hooks or another towel bar added to the bathroom as there was only room to hang one towel and one wash cloth. We will not stay there again because there are plenty of other motels around the area in the same price range that do offer all the extras that most travelers expect these days.

This property has been totally remodeled. Fresh and tastefully decorated. Our room was absolutely spotless. Updated shower was amazing. This was a great place to stay, close to shopping and dining. Straight shot to beech bend park for our car show. Not many amenities, but well worth staying there!

Clean, well maintained and good price. Would stay again. However, we had two girls and, even with two double beds, it was a tight fit. The overhead lighting is quite bright (no lamps), not romantic and hard to read under, but I guess that is reflected in the price. The kids think the painted cardinal at the entrance should have its beak and feet painted a light yellow, but it is a fun feature. (Everybody's a critic.)

This hotel was DESTROYED by a TORNADO. We were unable to stay at the hotel as it is gone. Expedia is still selling rooms?!? We had to find a different hotel at midnight! Expedia's response? It will take ten days to decide IF they will refund us for the room that we CLEARLY didn't stay in?!?

Although an older motel, it has been updated and is in nice condition. No in-room coffee is a downer--there is a coffee shop across the street however.
