Room was OK, with reasonable bathroom. Although very high sided bath to access shower, probably not good for people with mobility issues. Our room was a double room with shared main door, although main door locks on closing, we had to lock our door with key for privacy and security. Good is your traveling with larger group but not when you only occupy one of the rooms. Breakfast was OK, but not for the price, if you have enough time do to the rhur park centre where you can have 2 breakfast for cheaper than ACHAT. Located at the end of a dark area of the park. Ok in a car, not so good if walking especially alone. Sauna, can not comment on how good this was as I never found it to be open when I checked various times of the day. So poor for sauna, could do with opening hours on the door. Overall OK to good. Good location to park centre for shopping and eating. Poor for breakfast costs and sauna never being available when I wanted a sauna

Very good
Very nice modern hotel. My room was in - I believe - a bit poorer part of the building, but still high standard. I will stay again definitely. Late open bar was a bonus too.

Nice Hotel great location
Our stay was very good, could not fault the room and cleanliness, my only concern was the bar person was not always about and people had a wait, this was the first two nights of our stay, and the receptionist and bar lady were more interested in playing a drinking game with a bunch of male guests!

Overall very good hotel, though a little soulless. The big problem refers to the cost of breakfast which was 17 euros per person. Extortionate!

Interesting.
Interesting stay, the hotel rooms smelt very bad took about one hour for the smell not fade. The king bed was a king bed but the duvet covered only 3-4ths of the bed other than that ok

Achat March 2017 JP/IP
We have stayed at the Achat Hotel quite a few times now, it is handy for local areas and people who want to go and see starlight express! There is a spa next door which has doubled in size over the past few years. And is worth a visit. The hotel alone is good value for money, but l think breakfast is a bit expensive, when you can go 500mtrs up the road and get breakfast for half the price. It would also be good to have a kettle and tea/coffee in the room, l know the Germans are not keen on fast coffee!. But overall the Hotel is good.

Good but not great
This was my second stay at the hotel. The first stay was fine and almost nothing to complain about. Maybe except it took a while to find somebody at the reception but I was checking in late. The second stay was a bit worse experience. The problem was a bathroom. The sink tap couldn't be turned off normally I had to use quite extensive force and bathtub plug was leaking so I had to keep water running if I wanted to have a bath. Otherwise it was a quiet room with a comfortable bed.

Great Hotel and great value.
I have stayed here a few times, and the hotel never lets you down, even better now,we now have coffee tea and chocolate in the room. Also the night club next door has closedown so no noise. This Hotel is very handy for the Bochum and Dortmund area. I will be staying here again.

Nice hotel away from the city center
Very nice hotel, away from the city center (so need to have a car or use public transportation to get to the city center). Reservation specified free WiFi and the check-in desk tried to charge us for the WiFi, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this clean, comfortable hotel. Breakfast buffet is a good one, but we did not want to spend the €15/day (I have stayed at this hotel before and the breakfast was included in the rate and was good).

Lost in a time warp
If you hanker for a return to the 1980's then this is the hotel for you. It has not been updated since the day it was built. Understaffed, poor choice on menu, not cleaned very well, no soundproofing so you can hear every footstep in the corridor outside. and the breakfast room is too small to cope with the number of guests. On the plus side, beds were comfortable, and there is a wide, if not strange, breakfast choice. I didn't know Chicken nuggets were a breakfast food.

the service is very slow anything you as for seems to have been a real chore for them.
Not at all happy with service. Any time you asked for anything it seems to have been a real chore for them. Had problem with their computer. needed to contact family back home. Printer was not set properly. Instructions in german even though the clerk spoke english would not give any assistance or call someone who would be able to reset computer. Just left me sitting there. Room never really cleaned properly. Never left enough towels, or glasses, always had to call down or go get them ourselves. Would not stay there again

Well priced hotel
Hotel was okay, good rooms and furnishings. Arrived late & restaurant closed at 9.30pm which was a bit irritating. Ate in restaurant 2nd night - only couple in there! So lacked a bit of atmosphere. Receptionist Sunday morning was wonderfully helpful printing some info for us from a local website. Hotel was a bit too remote though.

Perfect location for shopping and exploring
Stayed here while visiting for a family reunion. More a business hotel than leisure. However, it has a perfect location 5 mins from the A40 (traffic noise not apparent); is next to the Ruhr Park shopping centre. There is no restaurant, but they do an average breakfast and there is a small bar open from 18.00hrs. The rooms were adequate and clean - although they should think about hoovering under the bed too! I would stay there again.
