Rooms are large but have very inadequate cabinet or countertop space in both the bedroom and bathroom areas. Never got hot water although I let the water run at least five minutes. ( I timed it after I noticed it was taking forever). The TV , remote and channels to watch are antiquated. I tried to get breakfast but no one ever showed up at the bar/dining room, and I had the front desk person looking at me, never coming over to ask if I needed anything. This place is highly overrated.

The staff is wonderful. They are very accommodating. We ended up eating in the restaurant and were very pleased! The chef is excellent! It was. The best meal my husband and I have had since before COVID.

This one of the most pleasant stays I have ever found with Expedia! The property a beachside resort built in 1895 has been updated beautifully. Our Room 112 had 11 foot ceilings large windows which faced the Gil of Mexico and the front lawn covered with live oaks and draped with Spanish moss. The plush carpeted hallways are adorned with black and white portraits of former guests enjoying this Oceanside retreat. Really a transport back in Southern time away from the Casino world, and back to a time to slow down relax and contemplate this natural gem. The room suite must have been 1,000 sq foot! Walk in shower with tile pebble floor and marble sinks. The next morning David the bartender served us breakfast prepared fresh White House Omelet; breakfast croissant with Tasso grits and a Teddy Bear pancake for our grandson. It was all great! We wished we would have planned to stay more than one night!!! We loved it walking across to the groomed white sand and the placid waters of the Gulf!!

the property itself was great especially the dining area inside. the only problem we had was the cover on the bed being dirty with spots which made it very uncomfortable to sleep on.

It's a historic property, and very attractive with a nice pool. It is decorated very nicely. Staff was very nice and friendly. Easter Buffet was pricey. Did not eat any meals on the property. The room needed a refrigerator and a table or two at the very least. No where to put anything ... the nightstands were very small. No sink room in the bathroom at all.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly desk clerk. She quickly explained that due to construction we were being upgraded to a gulf front king non smoking room. The lobby, lounge and restaurant area take your breath away upon entering the building, the wood work is fabulous. Our stay was perfect, we will stay here again.
