It is truly a 5 star hotel. It is beautiful. The room a bit small but expected in Europe but the bathroom was huge, and I loved that! We loved our check in person his name was Gabriel from Argentina. He was so lovely and helped us out a lot on things to do around the area. Location was great!

Strong recommendation not to book this hotel if you anticipate hot, muggy weather, . Hello! climate change in Switzerland.! This hotel does not deserve five stars as it does not have air-conditioning. It is unrealistic in today’s climate environment to not have air-conditioning at a five star hotel. I was told there was climate control. all it meant was to cool the room was to turn off the heating -.that’s not the same as cooling. So it was quite uncomfortable to sleep. furthermore I found inflexibility when I tried to change my reservation because of the difficulty of sleeping. Obviously the hotel comes first and the guest second .

Luxury quiet and great location
Indeed a five star hotel! Renovated in2011. Still looks brand new! Pro: everything is perfect in this hotel except the check in time. Location is amazing. Right next to train station. Very convenient to go anywhere and it is in the center of everything! Clean: hotel is amazingly clean. And most impressive is they clean the room twice per day—maybe I should not complain about check in time. Spa: complementary for guests. Sauna and steam and very relaxing pool. Quiet: the room we have is facing walls. No view. But unbelievably quiet! We can’t hear anything not even neighbors open doors. AC has no sound at all. It is next to train station but can’t hear any train sound. Con: check in time was delayed for me. That is why I deducted one star. We were very tired after a long flight but could not check in at 2pm. So we waited until the normal check in time 3pm but still couldn’t check in due to not ready. When we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Spain last October, we checked in at 11 am upon arrival! Btw we checked out at 9:00 am to give hotel ample time to clean and make it ready for next guest. I think hotel should award guests who checked out early!

Very clean. Close to train station. Friendly and professional staff. No complaints. Just something is missing as a 5 star hotel and can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe the interior design in the rooms needs a makeover. It looks slightly dated. Also we didn’t have a hairdryer in our room.

Very nice hotel and sweet staff except they didn’t give us the upgraded room we paid for through Expedia and were sold out of what we reserved but yet they charged us because we prepaid for the room. Also found out after we got there the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning in the rooms and it was very hot and stuffy and hard to sleep. Room had a lot of road noise from the traffic outside as well and not very soundproof. They also didn’t give us credit for the taxes we prepaid for through Expedia. Room service was mediocre in forgetting to daily update body soaps, shampoos and coffee bar with teas and sugar. For the price this hotel charges it’s missing what you pay for but staff is very polite.

Thank you for your feedback.I am sorry to read about your disappointment with your stay with us. After reviewing your reservation, I unfortunately cannot see anything about the upgrade you mentioned. We received from Expedia a reservation for Boutique Deluxe room, which is what we prepared for you. In regard to the air conditioning, you are right, we do not have AC units in the rooms, but a ventilation systems which regulates the temperature based on the outside temperature. Especially in the Spring, when the weather changes rapidly, it does sometimes take a little while for the system to adjust, which results in the room being slightly warm. Nevertheless, our Front Office and Housekeeping Teams have various options to help cool down your room if necessary and reach a comfortable sleeping temperature. I am sorry that we did not get the chance to apply any of them during your stay. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience with the room service, I wish to assure you that this is definitely not reflective of our level of service and that our Housekeeping Manager will be discussing it with her team and take appropriate measure to ensure against a repeat of the same on going forward.Thank you for taking the time also to highlight the friendliness of our team. Loved this hotel. They are located right across the street from the train station and bus stations , which was very convenient. There were also quite a bit of shops around the hotel and easy walking distance to any restaurants. The only thing we didn’t like is how warm they kept the hotel at all times and you couldn’t turn your thermostat down further than 20°c.

Our ventilation system regulates the room temperature within a given temperature range, which in Fall and Winter does not go below 20 degrees. However we have different ways to cool the room further down, when our guests wishes so. Great Location
Great location for the train station - literally opposite, and walking around the Old Town. Reception staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, however I found it difficult to manage the temperature - couldn't get it cool enough for me... Great restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Convenient location ! The Train station is only cross the street. It’s very easy to take train to Zurich Airport directly. It’s close to dining, shopping …..everything. And the services and facilities are the best. If I will be Bern again,I definitely will be back to this hotel again.
