The lack of conveniences can be excused in a 265 year continuously operated family hotel of charm and character. In trudging up the slanting stairs remember that Arturo Toscanini and Richard Wagner made the same trip heard the same squeaks and squeals and be grateful to be in the same space. Another rare bonus is that a seated full breakfast is included.

Super location, friendly staff, but..
The service was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, next to the Opera House. The old part of the hotel was charming and I imagine the rooms were very nice. The room I was given was in the newer section and very bland and not very comfortable. It was not consistent with the pictures shown when I booked here. I was not happy with the value and would not go back.

Cozy historical landmark to stay in
It is the perfect place if you like a cozy, old house feel, historical landmark to stay in. You pay a premium for that, and I was happy to pay it for my pilgrimage to Wagner sites. My room was individual and these never get the same love as the other bigger ones, but I have no complaints. Beautiful common areas and dining room. Very friendly staff.

This hotel is the ultimate in service and old world decor. The rooms are exquisitely decorated with antique furniture (modern mattresses), lovely wallpaper even in the bathroom. Service is available at all times in your room or the public rooms. Staff very friendly yet professional. Only 1 drawback, no A.C. But a standing fan in every room.

Great location. Old world charm.
This hotel has been in the ownership of the same family since the 18th century and it shows in the great care that is taken to ensure that ones stay is memorable. Small things like fresh fruit every day, complimentary snacks relenished daily and chocolates on the pillows at night, all count. My ony quibble is that there is no lift and negotiating 18th century staircases can be an adventure.The lack of a room refrigerator was also a negative for us. Don't let these quibbles put you off. This is a hotel well worth the price.

Historisches Ambiente mit Servicemängeln
Das Hotel liegt absolut zentral in der Altstadt von Bayreuth in einem liebevoll erhaltenen historischen Gebäude. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten liegen fußläufig. Die Parkplätze sind kostenpflichtig, preiswerter sind die in der unmittelbaren Nähe gelegenen öffentlichen Parkhäuser. Wir hatten ein wunderschönes geräumiges Zimmer, alles war sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Geärgert haben wir uns über das Hotelfrühstück. Es gab alles auf Bestellung, die Auswahl war dürftig, das Personal sichtlich überfordert. Dieses war einem Hotel dieser Kategorie nicht angemessen.

Ældre charmerende hotel.
Ældre, men charmerende hotel. Mange trapper, ingen elevator. Stort problem er mulighed for at spise. Hotellets restaurant er lukket mandag og tirsdag. Ligesom mange andre restauranter i byen. Dette oplyses ikke gennem Hotels com. Dejlig morgenmad og ualmindelig god service i morgenmadsrestauranten . Generelt er Bayreuth ikke særlig turist venlig. Alt er skrevet på tysk. Ingen taler engelsk.

Unsere Buchung wurde beim Check-In nicht gefunden, das war schon suboptimal. Das Personal war hier aber sehr nett und flexibel und hat uns auch ein Upgrade gegeben. Bis auf eine Dame, die vehement forderte, dass wir unseren Zimmerschlüssel abgeben, war das Personal grundsätzlich sehr nett. Besonders ärgerlich war, dass unser Zimmer nicht gemacht wurde, obwohl wir ab 10.30 Uhr unterwegs waren. Dafür wurde sich auch nicht entschuldigt. Für ein Superior Zimmer war auch die Toilette nicht angemessen. Hier gab es keinen Mülleimer, die Toilette selbst war etwas betagt, die Tapete blättert allmählich ab und generell riecht die Toilette etwas feucht und muffig. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, mehr auch nicht, wenn auch sehr übersichtlich portioniert. Das geht ebenfalls besser. Es war mein zweiter Aufenthalt im Anker und dieses Mal auch mein letzter. Schade, denn Bausubstanz, Historie und Lage des Hauses sind wirklich prima.

Hervorragende Lage, ein Hotel mit stolzer Geschichte und etwas familiärem Ambiente. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Unser Zimmer war zweckmäßig aber sehr traditionell eingerichtet.

Отель может и древний в котором останавливались в своё время разные культурные деятели.. но!!! Тапочек так и не дали... отопление оставляет желать лучшего.. наверное из-за Толстых каменных стен матрасы ледяные .. видимо экономят на отоплении.. и когда гость уезжает то отключают в комнатах батареи.. по-другому я не могу объяснить не имею возможности.. завтрак: ну здесь тоже все не благополучно: скудное меню и никакого шведского стола.. заказ яичницы: одинокое яйцо с двумя кусочками шпека.. ну варенье.. ну круассан.. никаких овощей !!! Ну очень скудно.. конечно, история с тапочками меня совсем сделала грустной. Ну вот.

Ein interesantes Hotel mit Charm.
Das Hotel hat einen gewissen Charm, leider ist das Parkplatzangebot sehr beschränkt und die hoteleigenen Parkplätze sind teuer. Dies wird auf der Webseite nicht erwähnt. Es wird einem die Möglichkeit geboten einen Blick in die Vergangenheit zu werfen, was einen Besuch interessant macht.

Direkt neben dem Markgräflichen Opernhaus
Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen obwohl gerade mehrere Gäste gleichzeitig ankamen, unser Gepäck wurde selbstverständlich besorgt, Fragen zu Besichtigungen im Umfeld wurden umgehend beantwortet. Unser Zimmer lag hinten im älteren Teil des Hauses, das aus dem 18. Jahrhundert stammt, weil wir Wert auf ein besonders ruhiges Zimmer gelegt haben. Das Zimmer war alt aber sehr sauber und mit allem Komfort, den wir brauchen. Das Abendessen war sehr gut, das Frühstück noch besser, Bedienung am Tisch inklusive! Wir haben das Haus schon weiterempfohlen.

Guter Platz in Bayreuth
Im Grunde genommen ein schönes Zimmer, alles in allem habe ich den Aufenthalt genossen, besonders die Mitarbeiter im Hotel sind sehr freundlich. Leider bietetdas auf alt gemachte Bad wenig Komfort, besonders die Aufteilung auf zwei Hähne fuer warm und kalt in der Dusche hat fuer wenig Freude gesorgt.
