This place met beyond expectations. The last night we were there they usually turn off the fire pit at 10 o’clock. My wife and I got to the fire pit at 9:55 p.m. to seat around the fire with a glass if wine. And the girl at the front desk named Danielyah did not turn off the fire pit on us and did not even come out and interrupt our great time. We ended up staying out there to about 10:30 PM and then we left as we were walking back to our room. we then saw her go outside to turn off the fire pit. It was so great to have that type of service from the minute. We got there to the minute. We left excellent service A highly recommend.

Of all the properties we stayed at on our trip to Maine, this was by far our favorite. Beautiful cottage, the fire pits, music and bar made it the perfect spot to relax after a busy day. Staff was incredibly helpful and amazing. Thank you Ivy Manor for such a memorable experience.

Very nice older property on Main St. Staff were very attentive, organized, check-in was easy and out the same. Music in the afternoon outside was very enjoyable. Breakfast was continental and quite spare in comparison to other B and B's we've stayed in in this town. we expected more, but it was one of the last seasonal days of the year and many stores and restaurants were closed.

Although staff are friendly, the rooms carpet smelled of mildew., there was enough parking places for guests., breakfast was horrible .. very little to choose from !!.

Great location, ok room.
The main house was beautiful and quaint, although I only walked inside to check in. We stayed in one of the guest cottages and they were underwhelming. They seemed cheaply made with little decor or charm, and the bathroom was small with a cheap shower….not what I was expecting for a nice hotel. It was clean, however, and the bed was comfortable enough. Great location in Bar Harbor!

Beautiful inn with an excellent location
This inn could not have had a better location. It is right in the center of Bar Harbor and close to all restaurants, shops and the water. It was an easy short drive to Acadia NP also. The inn is charming and comfortable with a warm and welcoming staff. The fire pits and bar in front of the inn were the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. The room was well equipped and comfortable. The only slight negative was the breakfast offered. For the rather large nightly sum we paid, it would have been nice to have been offered more than muffins and yogurt.

Excellent location. Free parking. Walkable to restaurants and waterfront. Won’t hassle with Main Street traffic. Bed and breakfast feel minus the breakfast. Front desk seasonal staff was not helpful or friendly. Housekeeping was great. If you are looking for a full breakfast it’s not the place. Head over to “ This Way Cafe” for exceptional breakfast.

We are so glad that you enjoyed our staff, Charles! Yes, the Ivy Manor was built in 1939. Our inn is meant to keep with and pay homage to the historic northeast ambience of the original cottage homes of Mount Desert Island, with modern amenities.

We enjoyed the location and ability to walk to shops and restaurants, free parking, and nightly bar service on the lawn. Easy commute to Acadia National Park. Loved the Mexican restaurant nearby. The staff was not attentive, however, & our room wasn’t very comfortable (springs when sitting on antique chairs and bed wasn’t very comfortable). The continental breakfast could use some variety for those on longer stays.

A Great Find For Us
The Ivy Manor Inn was a great find for us. We were greeted in the lot by Orville who was happy to help with our bags and lead us our check in where two glasses of bubbly were poured as we got our key and moved into our spacious and very comfortable first floor room. Breakfast was plenty for two people on the go. Don't pass up the blueberry muffins. Seriously. The live music (2-5) on the lawn was an unexpected treat as well with beer and drinks available followed by fire pits in the evenings. The amount of passer-by folks who we could hear say, "Look how cool this is." are right. It is cool and we will be back if and when Bar Harbor finds its way onto our calendars again.

Where do I start… the whole experience was PHENOMENAL! The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We got lucky and ended up in room 11 and it had its own large porch with lights, hanging baskets, and a table and chairs. During the day they have a bar complete w live music, fire pits and comfortable chairs out on the lawn. It’s fantastic. Breakfast was simple but very good! I’ll be coming back! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We very much enjoyed the music and bar set up. We met wonderful tourists and enjoyed the fire pit very much. Great place to stay, walkable to Downtown and restaurants. We have been there 4 times and will return to Ivy Manor for sure 😊 Staff were all wonderful 👍

The location if you want to explore downtown Bar Harbor is excellent. Their outside fire pit area is nice too. The hotel is a converted old house that has its own charm. On the con side, we were surprised at the condition of the room for the price point. Our room was @ 440 in September. The bed was uncomfortable (you could feel the springs), the sheets were relatively rough, the doors didn’t work. Bathroom door wouldn’t close, key to open room had to be worked at to open. Space was fairly tight in room. No place to plug in cell phone on or by nightstand. Had to move nightstand and unplug lamp to charge phone. Breakfast pastries left out - not great. The trim and overall state of the room seem not well maintained. Overall we chalked it up to an adventure and decided we would never go back.

Pleasant surprise!
This was our first visit to Bar Harbor and we loved it! Planning to come back with the kids in the near future. The Ivy Manor Inn was a pleasant surprise. Right near the heart of the town and an easy walk to the restaurants, shops and harbor. It has a front lawn with a fire pit and an outdoor bar set up with music speakers for people to sit and hang out. It’s open to the public until 8pm and then to the inn guests. It looks to always be lively and full. They have live music often too. There was also a private fire pit for guests only off to the side. The Inn itself has rooms in the main house and cottages off to the side. We stayed in the main house. It is an old house and creaks perfectly. We loved it! It has antiques all over and older fixtures. Our room had a deck attached and was quiet and comfy even with the main lawn being full. We can’t wait to go again!

This is a unique property and just like staying at home. The rooms were a good size and nice continental breakfast in the morning with huge muffins. We enjoyed sitting out by the fire pits each night talking about the day. It was a great location and we would definitely stay again.

The property was clean and in a great location. Super easy to walk around town with plenty of dining and shopping options. Staff was a little hard to find at times. Over all good choice and would be happy to go back.

Fantastic property! We were in one of the little guest houses (#14). Like a cute little hotel room - ac worked great; noise was not an issue; seemingly newly renovated. The only negative was the bench in the room - v uncomfortable and thought it might break. Added bonus was the live music on the front lawn, so fun! Muffin in the am not great but plenty of places to walk to and have breakfast. Will absolutely return!!

I can't say enough about this property. It was very clean. The room was gorgeous if you like antique rooms. Very comfortable bed. Very nice size room as well. The staff was more the friendly and helped any way they could. The outside patio was amazing and so nice just to sit by the fire and listen to music. They even had an outside bar while you were sitting relaxing.

This has an excellent location and is such a quaint inn. The room was large, had a fireplace and sitting area, and was furnished with antiques. Updated bathroom with a large walk in shower. The front lawn had a daily afternoon concert with bar service and three fire pits in the evening. It is near the village green and was walking distance to everything. We loved our stay!
