Nainital is the largest hill settlement in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas. Its spectacular location and varied activities draw a large number of visitors to its hub, that centres around the Naini Lake.
Bhimtal (60 Kms)
This fairly large lake with a central island is a popular spot for picnickers and tourists. Boating and fishing facilities are available as are a choice of restaurants.
Sat Tal
Sat Tal (seven lakes) is 21 Kms from Nainital. Kayaking, rock climbing and even mountain biking is possible in this secluded area.
Naukuchiyatal
Yet another lake resort 26 kms from Nainital, the lake has nine corners giving the place its name. Less prone to tourist traffic, the lake has great opportunities for bird watching and boating.
