"Excellent Value, Service, and Location"
Alexandria is about a 20-30 minute metro ride to the main attractions in Washington, DC. Public transportation is easy to navigate and well-connected to everything including the airports. Alexandria felt very safe. Location of the Residence Inn is about a five-minute walk to the metro, grocery store, many boutique shops, and restaurants. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the Residence Inn staff and their willingness to go out of their way in providing excellent service. Room/suite has fully equipped kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, pots, pans, plates, cooking and eating utensils, etc.). Complimentary daily breakfast was good (cereal, eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, etc.) and complimentary weekday dinners were simple and tasty (dinner menu varies each evening - pasta, salad, etc.).

"Attentive, friendly service"
Well-appointed room, fast wi-fi (even if it was extra $) and and attentive staff made my stay quite comfortable. Parking attendant, front desk clerk, bellman - all made check-in quick and easy. But the star of my stay was a server in the restaurant. I'd had dental surgery on Wednesday and after a weekend of having to talk all day at a conference, my mouth hurt so badly that I couldn't even chew the pasta. I asked for a to-go box to take the meal to my room and the server, who was not assigned to my table, promptly got me one but came back a few minutes later and asked if I was having jaw pain. I explained my situation and she offered soup or a smoothie. At first I declined but she insisted, taking the pasta off my bill and bringing me a delicious cup of soup on the house. She explained that she understood about mouth pain and that she hoped it was better soon. So few people really pay attention these days, but she did, and her kindness made my night.

"Cute hotel, good price, nice location"
Had zero trouble checking in and out. Free breakfast was good, and the hotel was in a quiet part of town but very close to the metro. All around positive experience.

"Great Place to Stay"
The room was very clean, well lit, spacious, and very comfortable. We stayed here to be close to Arlington National Cemetery and it was. It is located in the town village and there were many nice restaurants to choose from right outside the front door of the hotel. It looked like there were a couple of movie theaters there too, as well as a Whole Foods. The only drawback was having to park our car in the structure across the street, but this wasn't really a big deal. Hotel parking is on the fourth floor of the structure.

"ABSOLUTELY choose this hotel with confidence!!!"
Our family of 5 stayed here Aug 4-8, 2014. The hotel was amazing! Fabulous breakfast buffet until 9:30 am and, as an added bonus, DINNER BUFFET WAS INCLUDED, TOO(avail. Mon-Thurs night)!! Coffee, tea, & hot chocolate were available 24/7, a great pool(with a lifeguard!), hot tub, fitness room, billiards table and a complimentary shuttle to the King St. Metro station that ran on the half hour! Our room was spacious and more than sufficient. We were very well cared for while we were there and would most definitely stay here again, if in the area! We have already recommended this hotel to our friends & family. Great Stay!!

"Outstanding stay!! Everything was wonderful."
It was fantastic being back in Old Town Alexandria as I used to work there and fondly remembered it for several years. I was excited about coming back and this hotel was the perfect location grounded right in between the metro train station and the collection of charming shops and restaurants to stroll down this gingerbread-like village of charm. This is the quintessential place to stay if you're going to Old Town as it's superbly convenience, clean, lovely and affordable. The hotel staff were considerate, helpful, prompt and gracious. We truly had a great stay!!!!
