Wonderful host Doris, clean and homey feel to this adorable Bed and Breakfast Inn. Excellent breakfast! All the reviews I read were spot on and I would highly recommend this place and stay here again!!!

The accommodations were wonderful and Doris was very welcoming and a fantastic host! This was my first true B&B experience and the breakfast that was made to order was truly a game changer and a great start to the day. I would absolutely return!

Very unique Victorian Era home. Doris, the hostess, was very knowledgeable about the area, very hospitable and makes a great breakfast. My wife and I will return at a later date to see more of the area and visit Doris. Thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay here in this Inn and town.

The Victorian Inn is top on our list of favorite bed and breakfasts. A tremendous amount of care has been taken to replicate the original style of the home. The hostess, Doris was so welcoming and helpful. This was meant to be a relaxing vacation, and she certainly made it that way. As a woman, there is nothing like smelling coffee and bacon from the kitchen when you don't have to prepare it yourself! We hope to return one day! The busy train route was a delight as well! P.S. The folks in this area are so friendly. People walking down the street will stop and visit with you when you are sitting on the front porch!

It was a wonderful step back in time to stay at the Victorian inn. Doris the owner is a wonderful, amazing woman who could tell you all the facts you needed to know about the house and the town. Everything was perfect, highly recommend.

Amazing place to stay. Owner Doris is a real sweetheart who made my stay perfect. Beautiful home and super clean. Great breakfast and great company. Would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. I will stay there again when in Alderson.

This is a gorgeous old home with beautiful decor and furniture that suits it's 19th century age. The hostess is a lovely lady who's very knowledgeable about the area and makes you feel very welcome as well as providing a great spread for breakfast. The house was immaculately clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here for couples, families or even single travellers.

Miss Doris fixed a great breakfast of eggs, bacon, ham, blueberry muffins, toast, juice and coffee. She sat with us for an hour talking about a variety of subjects. She is delightful. The CSX train line adjacent to the lodge adds to the flavor of the area. We highly recommend this B&B.

The history of the town and the house was amazing. The craftsmanship of the house was really cool. Doris is an amazing host and we will be back. Food was great and Doris made us feel like we were at home. A very friendly environment.

What a beautiful, wonderfully- restored Bed and Breakfast in a delightful, unique historical setting! Doris has a true gift of hospitality and meeting her was the best part of our decision to reserve a room there for one night during a recent road trip. She immediately made us feel welcome and provided many thoughtful amenities throughout the Inn, as well as a delicious, made-from-scratch breakfast spread and perfect coffee. The accommodations couldn't have been better for a relaxing stop in a beautiful area of West Virginia. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay and would be delighted to go back next time our travels take us in that direction, but we would definitely want to stay at the Inn longer!

A diamond in the rough!
Two couples stayed here and loved it. Doris was extremely accommodating as we had to arrive later than expected. The rooms were clean and breakfast was fantastic. We would recommend it and stay there again in a heartbeat!

What a treasure
Gorgeous and elegant turn-of-the-century home, beautiful original woodwork, stained and leaded glass, spacious rooms and plenty of places to spread out and relax. It's peaceful and comfortable and genteel, but most of all, the service is tops. The owner Doris is so personable and accommodating, and breakfast was terrific. Yes there is a railroad across the street, but it's not heavily used, and we slept right through. Alderson is a railroad town with a beautiful restored depot, so trains are part of the charm. (If you're a *very light sleeper, take the blue room (twin beds) at the back of the house.) We stopped over on our regular trip to the Outer Banks, and will definitely do so again!
