Beach was beautiful- World Class! The room was perfect- great size. Food was excellent with good variety for all. Pool was fun and clean. Staff was amazing and helpful. But remember that you are in a resort- best to go out and do some local shopping to get a real feel for the area. Recommend guests to go out on the beach first light to see the fishing boats come in.

Beautiful resort, wonderful staff
This was our 3rd visit to this beautiful resort. Turtle beach is very special, not just because the grounds are so beautiful & peaceful, it is the wonderful staff who are so friendly and did everything possible to make our stay fantastic . We would like to thank Anu & Megha in reception, Bibin & his team in the restaurant, R Srikanth & his housekeeping team who looked after our room. A special thank you to Francis for looking after Sundari. I had 2 treatments in the Ayurveda centre which I found very beneficial, the 2 ladies that provided the treatments were very good. The presence of the wildlife & birds adds to the ambience of the gardens. It was very difficult to leave having to say goodbye to the staff who we consider as friends. Thank you from Carol & Michael

Very pleasant, clean and peaceful
A great place with a beautiful garden and next to a pleasant beach. Our cottage was brand-new and very clean. The food was just delicious but each time we had to wait up to one hour for the food to arrive (better to place your order in advance over the phone).

not slick but a great stay
We arrived after staying at a hotel that was really smart and everything slick - all manicured and spotless. Our first impressions of Turtle beach was not so impressive. But staying there for 5 nights we found that the well cared for but less manicured look was what gave it its relaxed charm. This was a great stay with people who couldn't do enough to make our stay all we wanted. The location was beautiful as were the beaches and staff help on the beach. Food was always good and reasonably priced - I give it five because it was such a good relaxed and welcoming stay, could some things be improved sure but it took nothing away fro our time there.

Nice hotel, location and staff
The staff make your stay really pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so hard working. The food is lovely and the butterfly garden is special.

Beautiful setting amongst nature
The hotel bungalows are set amongst heavily wooded gardens and are quite private. There are many birds to watch and there is a beautiful butterfly garden and an organic vegetable garden you can wander through. This being an eccentric place in my opinion, it is also unusual in that there are a herd of beautiful, gentle cattle kept on the site including a tiny calf when we visited. Food was very good, staff friendly and helpful. The Ayurerdic spa is basic but the treatments are good and affordable. The only thing I thought could be improved on was the addition of more umbrellas both on the beach and by the pool as there wasn't enough shade. However each bungalow has a private shaded veranda which are lovely, although more comfortable seating would have been a bonus. I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxed, laid back time and it will be particularly appreciated by those with a love of nature.

This was a second holiday at Abad Turtle beach, on arrival Shijo on reception welcomed us back & so did Shameer & Bibin & the restaurant staff who remembered us from last year, a lovely start to our holiday! We were pleased to see that nothing had changed in the resort, the grounds were as beautiful as last year with an abundance of birds & wildlife. The service & friendliness from all the staff is 1st class & the food in the restaurant is delicious, both the buffet & a la carte. This visit we took a Houseboat cruise on Abad's own Houseboat, this we really enjoyed, the staff were friendly & the meal provided was excellent, the Houseboat itself was also of an excellent standard. As mentioned previously, the area outside of the hotel is not a tourist resort but a traditional fishing village, this is one of the reasons we love it here. It will not appeal to people who want tourist shops & restaurants. I just hope that Marari beach stays as it is now & does not get spoilt by getting too touristy like Goa.

Beautiful gardens and hotel
We loved our stay, the staff, especially at reception is exceptional. The lack of liqueur licence is a bit of a disappointment. It's always nice to have a cocktail on vacation.

Beautiful & peaceful
We stayed for 13 nights in a detached villa which was next to the beach. From the time we arrived to our depature the service at Abad Turtle beach was 6*. The grounds are beautiful & it very peaceful the only sound coming from the birds & the sea! The butterfly garden is lovely & there is an abundance of wildlife such as Indian palm squirrels, various birds & fruit bats which you will see from 5pm. It was also fantastic to sea the Sea Eagles fishing off the beach. The food in the restaraunt both breakfast & evening meal were excellent. There is a lovely clean swimming pool here too. The area surrounding the hotel is not a tourist resort but a traditional Kerala fishing village, which is why we choose this hotel. Don't come here if you want tourist shops & restaurants, but do come to enjoy the nature & to relax.

An amazing beach hotel; a sort of smart village.
The hotel premise is like a modern, smart village. It's a huge property and itself can be considered as a touristic spot. An environment friendly battery operated car made our stay easy to move from one spot to another. it's very useful for the older guests. Cycle track, children park, indoor play and the pool are other facilities to make the guests full time busy. I will definitely return into this property in future and recommend my friends and relatives to avail.

So relaxing! Remote location, only stayed one night and could have stayed much longer! Great food and staff. The beach was clean and very close by. Beautiful grounds.

A less than pleasant experience....
At the outset i expected the hotel and the service to be excellent... However we were surprised.. and not pleasantly at that... From the beginning the service was more a forced measure than a heartfelt one... The check in and out timings are ridiculous.. The meal timing even more so... Who starts a lunch at 1 pm, specially with children around.. And no room service at that.. Beat that.. So we had to go out for each meal.. The only meal we did have.. the complimentary breakfast was vaguely intresting at best.. The beach which is supposed to be the unique selling point was a long long walk away in the blistering sun with people asking you your room number before you enter the beach compound.. The butterfly garden was the only saving grace.. That too visiting children were busy ripping the wings off the less than abundant butterfly population.. All in all an experience i would rather not repeat or recommend..

Seemed as though the resort was short on manpower as it took them almost half an hour to send the cart / bell boy to pick up luggage while checking out

Nice resort on Marari beach.
We spent 3 nights at this resort. Very pleasant place with good landscaping, facilities, cottages, ayurveda center. Restaurant has good breakfast. Dinner is good too but the buffet food is too rich and spicy. Vegetarian choices were there but seemed to be same every night!

Great quiet location.
We had read the reviews about this hotel before we booked it,so we were warned. Beautiful area and resort but very very underwhelming service. Firstly they didn't seem ready for us when we arrived,after faffing around they were ready minus an extra bed for one of my kids that took just forever to get to us and when it did my wife and I had to help the guy lift it into the room. The restaurant staff tho very sweet were clueless in Kerala,absolutely clueless which is not acceptable for this price bracket. The beach here is really beautiful,just super lovely and chilled. On our last day we ordered a car and driver which was then 2 hours late and really messed up our travel plans for that day and we had a long journey ahead. The manager and staff were just useless in sorting the car situ out. Eventually when we left after a free lunch!! We were told to pay the driver Rs6000 rather than the Rs 7500 we were quoted which made me think are these hotels charging a quite large commission on these journeys and ripping off the drivers who do a really hard job??

Great resort close to beach!

Abad Turtle Beach with my family last week. It is very good property but very poor service and food availability. It is worth staying without expecting good services and exotic food which is expected. Very well maintained.

Hotel has comfortable individual cottages and the resort is well maintained. But the biggest problem of staying in the resort is food. The complementary breakfast is very very stale and the quality of Lunch and Dinner Buffet is very very bad to say the least. The restaurant is too small and is very very crowded even with 20 guests in the restaurant. With the humidity being high, the guests will be sweating as there is no air conditioning in the Restaurant.

A quiet and clean place to get away from things and think. Unintrusive efficient service with good food. If you need to do shopping can easily go to Allepey by autos outside hotel 11km. Revi Karunakaran museum in Allepey is well worth a visit.

Sheer Paradise
Abad Turtle Beach Hotel is the secret getaway that is just paradise. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious for what we paid. The resort is in a secure area where you are made to feel special and very well looked after, from the Manager to the cleaners. To access the beach which is extremely private with sun loungers and beach towel all provided, it's like walking through your back garden. There was nothing we could fault and would highly recommend it to couples as a romantic holiday and families. If you're looking for the City life this is not for you although Allepy was only about half-an-hour away and cost about 200 Rupees. The backwaters is a must but only do it as a day trip as it is not possible to see the sunrise based on where the boat stays overnight. Be careful not to book through an agent as you can pay upto 7200 Rupees for a one room boat which should only be around 4500 - 5000 Rupees. This happened to us through the hotel but they more than compensated for this as they transferred us to their hotel in Cochin completely free of charge as our flight was so early and we did not want to do the hour and half drive in the early hours. Amazing holiday, with hotel staff who have lots of local knowledge that they are happy to share and ensure that it's a holiday to remember!!!! Loved it and would definitely be going back. Thanks to everyone who made our trip so amazing particularly Abad Turtle Beach Hotel and Binoy.

A good value beach resort
The resort is spacious, with attractive and comfortable rooms and a reasonable swimming pool (although a bit shallow and not suitable for serious swimming). The service was good and the food - primarily Indian cuisine - was of an acceptable standard. Some may find the absence of any alcohol an issue. It is a suitable resort for anyone wishing just to relax and get away from crowds. For those seeking a lot of activities and nightlife, look elsewhere. The beach is very long and largely empty. The local fisherman and their boats add colour but there is a lack of hygiene on the beach that means care must be taken there and it is therefore not best suited for young children. While we were there the sea was not particularly inviting, so I cannot comment on what the water was like.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Strandabschnitt ist wesentlich schöner als bei der Konkurrenz. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und schön, die Zimmer sauber und gut gelegen. Wer es im guten Sinne “einfach“, sauber und bezahlbar möchte ist hier richtig aufgehoben.
