Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Property is very worn & in need of a refurb. When we first arrived we thought it’s a 3 star hotel but as the week went on it got worse & worse.
There are 3 lifts in the hotel & 1 did not work our entire stay. The other 2 worked intermittently & on 2 days none of the 3 worked.
Breakfast was ok but the omelette station & msemmen station were understaffed. So there would always be a queue & the bigger the queue got, the smaller the portions got & the staff would get irritated if you asked for 2 portions.
The staff were very rude & seemed lazy or that they just didn’t care. On arrival I saw a member of staff at reception say to a guest “I don’t have time for you right now” in quite an abrupt manner & just left him standing there bemused. One morning at breakfast, a waiting staff was asked by a guest for cutlery & they picked dirty cutlery up from a table that had not been cleared, wiped it with a dry cloth & hand it off to them. All in plain sight. The guest saw & was furious but the member of staff insisted he didn’t & then threw his arms in the air & walked off.
The hotel offers currency exchange & the rates seem reasonable that they put up on the boards. However every morning I asked, I was either told “come back in the afternoon” or “we don’t have cash now” or “we’re too busy at the moment.” i gave up after going to them twice a day for my first 3 days trying to exchange money.
I would not stay at this place again under any circumstance.
