Mamzar Beach Park
Spanning a massive 106 hectares, this cultivated beach park facilitates every type of visitor from young to old.Explore the area and take in the luscious scenery on foot with some of the many paved walkways. If you're finding the heat a bit much, why not admire the sights with a trip on the scenic train which tours through the park, allowing you to see the full extent of the cultivated gardens, palm and coconut trees, as well as the desert plants and expanses of greenery that make up this stunning beach park.One of the many benefits of Al Mamzar is the free use of barbecues in the many designated areas dotted around the park. Here you will find seating and umbrellas and conveniently located picnic areas should you wish to bring your own food. If not, avail of the many food kiosks located throughout or visit the park's restaurant.There are lots of options for those who want to spend their time actively too, with roller-skating facilities, a skatepark, basketball courts and soccer fields. If biking is your thing, you can even rent a bike from the on-site service.Children are well catered for with many designated play areas, a baby pool and children's pool, as well as wide open spaces to run around safely.Air-conditioned private chalets are available to rent for the day; contact the administration office on site or, alternatively, visit the Dubai municipality website for more information.The beach park is open to the public every day for a small admission fee with Wednesdays being for women and children only. Friday is the busiest day at the park as offices and schools are closed, although with such an expansive area it's never hard to find a secluded spot.Getting to Al Mamzar is easy, the most convenient way being by taxi. The trip should take about 20 minutes from downtown Dubai. Or, if you have a car, you can avail of the copious parking facilities inside and outside the park.
