"The staff were outstanding. It could of been a 5 star hotel. The gent on recreation offered to carry bags. Advised on the local area. Asked how we were and about our day. Generally Sunderland was clean and tidy, very little graffiti, a real sense of civic pride. There are areas not so attractive,, shops with roller shutters (implies crime), but overall a good impression. Traffic after a match does gridlock the city!
