Disneyland® Park

The world’s most iconic theme park has entertained crowds since 1955.

Approximately 15 million people visit Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim every year. It is home to Disneyland® Park, which is made up of eight themed lands: Adventureland, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Main Street, U.S.A., Mickey’s Toontown, New Orleans Square and Tomorrowland.

Disneyland® Park is marketed as “The Happiest Place on Earth”. The park and resort were dreamed up by the late American animator and movie producer, Walt Disney. The world-famous cartoonist wanted to create an entertainment experience that would capture the imagination of both adults and children alike. Today, Disneyland® Resort offers more than 100 shows and attractions for you and your family to enjoy.

Disneyland® Park first opened in the summer of 1955, and some of the original attractions have stood the test of time, like the Jungle Cruise. This seven-minute boat tour will take you through a tropical adventure, featuring giant butterflies, gorillas, king cobras, and more. Disney’s emblem, the Sleeping Beauty Castle, modelled on a real Bavarian castle, is another original Park attraction that is the perfect spot for family pictures. In Fantasyland, take a whirl on the Mad Tea Party where you can spin as fast or slowly as you please.

It’s a good idea to have an idea of the park and know which attractions you want to visit before you arrive, but Disneyland® Park is known for its large crowds, no matter when you visit, so a more spontaneous, laid-back approach may provide a more enjoyable experience. Queues for the most popular rides tend to be shorter at the beginning of the day, so if you plan on doing as much as you can, it’s worth getting there early.

While in the park, you can find out estimated waiting times for the major attractions and schedules for entertainment (including fireworks, shows and parades) at the Guest Information board, located near the entrance to Adventureland. Smartphone users can download a Disneyland® Park mobile app for on-the-go updates.

Come prepared to spend time outdoors waiting in line for attractions or taking a stroll through the immersive lands. Make sure you wear a hat and comfortable walking shoes, and bring plenty of sun protection and water.

With loads happening day and night, you’ll need more than just one day to see and do everything there is at Disneyland® Resort. Multi-day tickets are available so you can enjoy all there is on offer, and save on your Disneyland® Resort holiday.
