Marineland

When you come to Niagara Falls, a natural wonder visited by people from around the world, include this attraction not far from the falls in your itinerary.

Visit Marineland of Canada for a day of fun viewing ocean and land animals, watching shows and taking rides. Enjoy seeing playful seals, a gigantic orca, acrobatic dolphins, personable beluga whales, walruses and sea lions in this habitat. Introduce children to these mammals that are normally difficult to see in their natural environment. Marineland hopes the live attractions will serve as an educational tool for young minds, as well as provide mesmerizing entertainment.

Along with these sea animals are bison, black bears, elk, deer, guinea hens and fish. Have a truly memorable family experience by going on over 15 rides. Note that most have height and age restrictions or require adult accompaniment. Bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages as Marineland allows visitors to pack their own lunches. Alternatively purchase meals at a number of concessions and enjoy them on picnic benches throughout the park.

Include the most popular attractions during your stay, such as Friendship Cove for orcas and Arctic Cove for beluga whales. Pay an additional charge for the opportunities to pet and feed the marine mammals. Some of the rides also have a marine theme, with most suitable for younger children and some for adults. Ask knowledgeable staff throughout the park any questions you may have about the attractions.

Park for free on site and pay admission to the park at the gate or online. Consider season passes for unlimited future visits available for a few dollars more. Be sure to use the provided map, as the more than 1,000 acres (400 hectares) can make walking around and finding attractions challenging. Plan to bring a stroller for young children, as distances between attractions are sometimes long.

Drive to Marineland from Horseshoe Falls in Canada in less than 10 minutes. If you are coming from the United States, you will need a passport to cross the border to Canada. The park is open daily from May to October. Arrive early to avoid possible long lines, which generally move quite quickly. Visit the souvenir store to purchase mementos to remember your time at Marineland.
