Sirmione

Among the highlights of Lake Garda, Sirmione is a medieval wonder with a castle and many churches. See its intriguing archeological site and thermal springs. Stroll through the quaint historic center to imagine life around the lake as it was centuries ago.

The Old Town area is on the Sirmio Peninsula jutting into the lake, offering picturesque panoramic views. On the northern tip of this land lie the ruins of the Grotto of Catullus. The commune is between the towns of Desenzano del Garda and Peschiera del Garda on the southern shoreline of Lake Garda. It is part of the Brescia province in the region of Lombardy in northern Italy. Fly to Verona Villafranca Airport, which is just 22 miles (35 kilometers) east of town. Reach other towns of Lake Garda via boats from the jetty at the town’s port.
