The park offers various tours, which range from excursions for 1 hour, a half day or a full day. Climb atop an elephant to experience a high vantage point very different from most tour opportunities. Then relax as the giant beast takes you on a scenic ride around Munnar to appreciate the captivating natural beauty. Admire the rolling green hills, lush valleys, misty cloud-covered forests and sprawling tea plantations in this beautiful setting. During the ride you can request to make short stops at several viewpoints, so have your camera ready to snap postcard-perfect shots.

In addition to the adventurous ride, you’ll have the chance to observe the multiple talents of the park’s elephants. See demonstrations of commands, communication and timber pulling. Watch as the park rangers bathe the elephants and as the animals shower themselves with water using their trunks, then dry off with trunkfuls of sand. The park is about a 15-minute drive from the town center of Munnar. Affordable auto-rickshaws and taxis provide convenient transportation options to the park. If you are feeling energetic, rent a bike and cycle to the park via Munnar’s scenic roads. A short drive from the park is Mattupetty Dam, which has a large reservoir and boating activities.
