Beautiful castle, great walks around the loch, lovely boutique shops and lots of great pubs!
While Philpstoun may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Blackness Castle and Linlithgow Palace.

Linlithgow is a beautiful town with a villiage atmosphere. There is lots of Scottish history and has the gorgeous park with a lake and the palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born.
A great little town with some fantastic scenery. A good selection of local bars with plenty of options to dine out.
