"We spent a delightful 4 nights at the Royal Orchid Metropole. It has a good location, just 5 or 10 minutes from the Palace by auto rickshaw. "Pool needs to be really improved, a lot of updates can be done, for example bath tub had scratches/peeling paint on them. Access to beach from hotel would be a plus."

"Beautiful hotel away from the center, so it is quieter - but also requires a tuk tuk to go everywhere. Beds are either super hard or soft, so be sure to request a room with your preference (I switched after the first night.) Staff were nice enough and became more friendly after a few days. "The property was unique but very comfortable. Had dinner at the guesthouse both night it was great. We just had toast for breakfast so can’t do much wrong with that. Would recommend to anyone that wants an authentic experience."
