De Oude Pastorie is a beautiful, heritage guest house which makes for a very comfortable and welcoming stay. Wilma and Des are superb hosts who go out of their way to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Pampered experience at Sweelendam Manse
Des & Wilma van Jaarsveld offer luxious accomadations in historic Victorian Manse ( built 1904). Wilma was very helpful when our car broke down in near Swellendam. She offered to pick us up and drove us to town. Warm friendly greeting when we arrived at B and B. Hosts are very knowledgeable about the town(Swellendam is 3rd oldest town in SA) and history of manse. Quaint old world charm -beautiful antques. Enjoyed complementary cup of roobis tea and ginger cookies poolside. Good selection of magazine to borrow from common room to read. Comfy terri cloth bath robes to wear poolside. Wilma made dinner reservation for us at Powell restaurant-we could walk to dinner while car was repaired.Excellent selection -enjoyed some traditional african dishes there. Des prepared goumet dish of eggs and ham for breakfast. There was a good selection of fruit, yogart, bread and cheese on side buffet. Evening bed turn down and chocolates was a nice touch. This B and B is on the upper price range of Swellendam B and B but well worth it. Complementary car detail for guests is a nice touch. Air condition offered relief for sleeping during hot summer nights. Would highly recommend . Good safe location near centre of town. Lovely gardens. Stop by and enjoy pampered experience.

Perfect stopover!
Loved my short stay here overnight - very comfortable surroundings and extremely friendly hosts. Enjoyed having a few beers and a stiff whisky with Desmond whilst watching the Boks almost beat the All Blacks. A great memory!

beautiful property, with very very friendly owners
we stayed there only one night, but could have stayed longer. The property and the guest rooms are very tasteful. The sleeping quality of the bed was great. The owners were very very polite, friendly and helpful. Of all the guest-houses we stayed during our 10 day trip, this was the best.
