Excellent Gasthaus!!! Phenomenal location, breathtaking landscapes, easy drive to castles, shopping, eating and so much more. Staff is gracious and helpful, and food at the Mirabell Restaurant is incredible!

Charming Alpine Hotel With Wonderful Owner
I have stayed here for a week each of the last three years. The hotel is in a village in the alps with breathtaking views. Most rooms have a balcony. The rooms are spacious for a European mountain hotel. Extremely clean and well maintained. The owner went out of her way for me on several occasions even delivering ice to my door from their restaurant across the street. They treat you as more than a guest. High praise in today's market. The owners English is limited but the rest of the staff all communicate well in several languages. Her enthusiasm more than compensates. Breakfast is included daily between 8-10 AM. I highly recommend, it's the main reason I return every year.

Hotel was located in the middle of Berwang. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious. There were also several other good restaurants within a few minutes walk. The ski lifts were about a 10 min walk from the hotel or you could take the ski bus. Great location.

Old world charm in alpine setting
The area of Berwang, Austria is spectacular. This traditional Tyrolean guesthouse is set in charming alpine setting . The guest house owner did not speak English and was challenging to communicate but her bright smile and willingness to help made up for the lack of communication. We arrived in the dark around 9 pm on a night that the restaurant was not open. It was impossible to find with the directions, and luckily another guest saw us driving back and forth and helped us find our way. Their restaurant is called Cafe Mirabell is in next door to the guesthouse and perhaps if we had that information we would have found things a bit easier. The bedding was so comfortable and we loved our stay once we found the spot!

Beautiful location
This hotel is located in a picturesque setting. Sensory overload with the sound of cow bells and the smell of flowers in the air. My only regret is we only stayed one night. Within a short drive of zugspitze and neuschwanstein castle.

Would stay again, wonderful owners!!!
Wonderful owners, so nice and willing to work with you and your depart time to fit in your breakfast. The only thing that confused us was where we went to check in, you had to go to their restaurant, the sign was there but would have been helpful to know on the instructions of the hotel before arriving.

Cozy hotel
Probably one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The host was very nice and made us feel welcomed from the very first moment we walked in. The location was great and the view was breathe taking.

Too bad there's no checkin info or procedure
Showed up at 915pm; reservation said checkin closes at 930pm. I was glad I had read lots of reviews, since one said to follow signs to Mirabell Restaurant. The hotel, next to the restaurant, was dark, no lights on, with the name printed on one of the sides, and the doors were locked. I went to the restaurant next door, where the owner told me in German, through guests who translated, our room numbers, and gave me keys to go back across the street in the rain to let myself in. Sheets on the bed were rough, not good. Floors were so creaky; I'm sure we woke people up the next morning when we left at 630am. The dear lady at the restaurant next door got up early to serve us breakfast, which was FABULOUS, as was the unbelievable view, almost making me forget the awful checkin and bad sheets.

Cozy getaway in the Austrian mountains
We had a wonderful few day vacation in this cozy mountain hotel. We liked the personal attention and care at the hotel. The fresh pressed (self-serve) orange juice at breakfast was delicious.

Excellent hotel and excellent service
We stayed at this hotel before going to Neuschwanstein Castle and our experience was great. The rooms are pretty decent, the value for money is also good, and the hotel is spotless. The manager of this family owned hotel is really friendly and nice. They always have a smile on their faces. Driving time from this hotel to the castle is 40 min approximately.

We had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We had beautiful views all around us. We were greeted upon arrival by the nicest lady. The restaurant next to the hotel was perfect. We had breakfast and dinner there. Both were delicious. The room was cozy with a very big bed & balcony. I highly recommend staying here!

The location is great if you are skiing. We were looking for something near Pfronten and this was a 40 minute drive away. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were very friendly. Our decor was a bit tired with fringed lamps and brown tile. It was nice to have the separate bunk room with its own sink for the kids in addition to a full bath.

Quaint village location. Very nice room with basic amenities. Bed was very comfortable. Shared balcony. Quiet hotel. We ate at the restaurant, which was great except the kitchen closed during our meal and we were not informed, so we missed dessert. Breakfast was spare but adequate. There was something rancid in one of the dinner dishes, but the rest was so good that we think it was a fluke.

Beds are very comfy. The family room is great with 2 separate rooms and sharing a bathroom. Breakfast is awesome - big buffet. We had dinner at the restaurant and service was terrific - friendly, informative and interested. Menu and prices were consistent with other restaurants in the town. While the owner doesn't speak English, she has an employee working behind the bar and in the restaurant that does. We had no issues at all in communicating. The host really is so lovely - she allowed us to have breakfast an hour earlier to when she usually serves breakfast. We found the guesthouse a little difficult to find - if you see the "Mirabell restaurant" you have come to the right place! Go in there and they will direct you to the guesthouse next door (owned by the same host). Your gps should get you to the Mirabell restaurant. Wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night. Will definitely come back here!

On JULY 17, I booked this hotel (Gästehaus Zugspitzblick, AKA - Restaurant Café Mirabell) for AUG 17 (one night) through Expedia with my credit card paying at hotel or after free cancellation date. However the very next day, due to my schedule change, I cancelled my Aug 17 booking and re-booked the same room to Aug 6. My cancellation is way out of the free cancellation date which is Aug 16, nevertheless, a couple days later, I noticed that my credit card was charged for my Aug 17 booking. Believing the hotel made a mistake, I called Expedia to work with the hotel to get refund. After several calls to the hotel, the Expedia representative told me that the people at hotel either pretended NOT speaking English or I quote from Expedia’s e-mail response to me: “We have provided them the information that they sent to us regarding the cancellation policy however they were rude and not willing to process refund”. Afraid of the hotel will charge me again; I had to keep my Aug 6 booking. After arriving the hotel (realizing it is a restaurant with some guest rooms) on Aug 6, I found out that the room has no balcony while I booked a balcony room, when I asked the hotel; they were very rude and told me there is no balcony room, I can just take it or leave it….by then I was speechless, they are the shame of Austrians. I guess it is because that the hotel locates on the border to Germany and is probably under nobody’s jurisdiction, so they can just simply act like old time mafia….. The wors

Definately a ski Inn feel. We stayed here one night and would have stayed longer but she was sold out. There is a private bath but the sink is in the bedroom area and not in the bathroom. The room was clean and modest. Communication was a bit difficult as we are monolingual English (sad to say) and the Inn owner did not speak English. We made out ok by pointing and other customers were very kind in helping us. The owner also went out of her way to help us secure a two nights stay across from her place. Her breakfast is a typical European one w bread, cereal, yogurt, and boiled eggs- we appreciated it being included in the price. She also has a restaurant which was very good. The wifi was excellent. Iwe would stay here again.

The Gastehaus was an excellent choice for a short-term get away! The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very gracious and helpful. The only problem we had was actually finding the hotel. It took us about 45 minutes once we were in town, it's not very large, so that was frustrating but our overall experience was positive. I give it a 4/5!

This was the best of the best. We enjoyed our stay so much. The family is amazing and super friendly, and ready at any moment to assist your needs. We stayed out of season, but the service was top rate anyway. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. We had the best view off the balcony of all the mountains and even the cows coming home in the evening!!!

A Lovely small Hotel in the German Alps
We were there for a very short time and wished it could have been much longer. The room was EXCELLENT. Separate sinks in each subroom. Plenty of space and storage. Lovely view and setting. We did have to call to confirm our late arrive but they were able to accommodate us. I would happily stay there again.

Awesome view...only wished we had more time there. Hard to find in the dark. Great quaint ski lodge type rooms. Very sweet and would be fun in winter...except driving up there! Breakfast was great and she even made it early for us.

Different Location!
Totally different to the norm' as this hotel was amongst the mountains and one heard cow bells rather than alarm clock! The hotel was clean and comfortable - well apart from the squeaky floorboards! A little bijou yet it did all that was required and we had both good food and rest although there were many activities which one could partake in. More a holiday location rather than overnight stop over as a little off the beaten track, but well worth the visit.

Schöner Gasthof mit netter Gastgeberin
Schöner einfacher Gasthof mit sehr freundlicher Gastgeberin mit vielen Tipps. Einziges Manko: Zimmer sind hellhörig. Frühstück war lecker und ausreichend. Dazugehöriges Restaurant für abends sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
