I had a high up large room which was wonderful. It was very quiet and had a great view. I arrived late at night and the staff was really fantastic all too willing to print emails scan send emails for me etc. etc. Who out this day the staff Have been better. I also had a Wednesday night where the hotel has a fantastic jazz group. Be sure to book on a Wednesday. They’re really brilliant. !

Saturday morning the female front desk person. 1st did NOT introduce herself just started screaming at me. I tried to explain myself but she just said “I don’t care” she freaked me out so much I didn’t want the free hotel breakfast I just left. Saw the nice cleaning person gave her a tip and left the hotel. I suggest you tell your staff to listen to your paid customers before overreacting!

lovely Boutique hotel on the upper west side of Manhattan. It's in a great neighborhood with great restaurants and close enough to public transportation to reach any part of the City. The only suggestion is that you be sure you get the room you requested and paid for. On 3 occassions I've been given a lower grade room and had to bring this situation to the manager, and was moved. Otherwise, a love hotel.

Located in the heart of my favorite neighborhood in New York City where it feels like a neighborhood but still close to exciting venues and restaurants. Downside is the bar closes early in the lobby.

Overall an ok hotel. Location on the west side was good. I liked our room, and we were upgraded to a room with a balcony and a view of the river which was nice. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were just average. The shower was nice and warm. I did not like the gym at all, it was in the basement with no windows, limited equipment, and what they had was old and rusty. The staff was very helpful. I would stay here again if it was convenient to what I was doing in Manhattan.

The first room we checked in had a mouse, so they moved us to another room. The person at the front desk (Fatima) was really friendly and tried to be helpful but it took them pretty long time to find another room. Every time we tried to check on it, I had to go downstairs, bc the phone in the room didn't work to call the front desk. The room they gave us was smaller (queen) than what we paid for (king), so they promised to find us yet another room in the morning. Tried to take a shower in the morning, took a really long time to get warm water, it kept coming cold. Mid morning switched rooms again. That room was king, but had brown water for the next two days we stayed. Trying to call front desk from the room phone was not an option either, the receiver was there but not connected to the base, just sitting there for decoration. We also had some food and we requested a fridge. On the morning when we had to move rooms yet again (from queen to king) I told them we really needed to go, we were late, and couldn't wait for somebody to come and take the fridge. They promised they'll do it. Came back, the food is in the room but no fridge, it was all just in the trash bag sitting on the table. Another call to the front desk. So for all the inconvenience, especially for the mouse in the room on the first night, they said they are not going to charge us for that first night. I just checked with Expedia, the refund was NOT approved. WTH?! But guess what? The staff is friendly (eye roll)

The stay was as expected. The water at the bathroom sink was either cold or too scalding hot. Was not able to mix water. The hotel was under staffed and check in and any other time that needed to talk to the front desk I had to stay in long time in line. Also there were no one at the front door and with that we were harassed by a homeless while we were having some coffee at the lobby. Homeless were harassing no only me but other guests until I had to call from help. Not sure if I will stay here again after that.

I enjoy the arthouse for the location and size of the room. However, I never get upgraded even when I know there are more open rooms. My Expedia membership allows for that. They also conveniently forgot to give me food credit unless I ask. I know NY is expensive, but that is some hard core skimping.

The property itself is very nice, we had a few issues with our room. The hot water was almost obsolete and absolutely no water pressure. It took me 20 minutes to fill the tub and by that time the water was cold. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain because the stopper was stuck closed and there was no body wash but they did bring some of that.
