Mixed feelings.
I have to admit that our initial impressions were tainted by the fact that our reservation mysteriously went missing. Not what you want to hear when you get in at midnight. The manager however did accommodate us and put us into an apartment for the night. The place was a bit dated and drab. Needs sprucing up a bit. We found a cockroach the size of a mouse which wasn't brilliant. And the bedding was not the cleanest. The next morning our booking had mysteriously shown up (note we made this booking about 2 weeks in advance). The manager tried to make amends by being very friendly and helpful. He helped us arrange transportation to weligama and made sure that other bookings we had made through Expedia for the rest of the trip were in fact confirmed (guess what, they were). I appreciate his help but I couldn't recommend this place. The area it is in run down and dirty and felt a bit unsafe. Please note that I am comparing this to other places we stayed in, in Colombo which are of a similar price. Swipe left and move on.
