Stroll along miles of trails through grassy parkland, hardwood forests and riverfront promenades and check out the visitor center at this pretty park.

Bordered by the South River and Harness Creek, Maryland Quiet Waters Park is a spacious public park and a favorite among locals and visitors. Enjoy the natural environment and take in stunning outlooks across the waterways in Quiet Waters Park. Explore a scenic network of bike and walking trails or take in the views from a canoe.

Stop by the Quiet Waters Park Visitor Center to find out what is happening in the park during your visit. The center also has three art galleries. Browse the artworks and then wander around the center’s beautifully maintained garden. Order drinks and a light meal in the café.

The park has over 6 miles (9.6 kilometers) of scenic trails as well as an expansive off-leash dog park. If you’re feeling active, head to the park’s equipment rental facility to find bikes, canoes, kayaks, sailboats and stand-up paddleboards. Follow the pathway around green meadows and quiet hardwood forests before reaching the waterfront. Here, you’ll find a pretty promenade that follows the curve of the river past sandy beaches and lookout points. From your watercraft, investigate Persimmon Point on the opposing bank or follow the meandering Harness Creek.

If you visit in the summer, catch a free music or theater performance at the Quiet Waters Park amphitheater. Pack a picnic and settle in for the afternoon. Grill your lunch or dinner on the park’s barbecue facilities while the kids play on the large playground.

During winter, Quiet Waters Park has an ice skating rink, which is open until late in the evening. Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa or re-energize with a sandwich from the visitor center’s café. The park’s Blue Heron Center regularly hosts weddings and events.

Maryland Quiet Waters Park is in southern Annapolis and is mostly enclosed by Harness Creek. The fee to enter the park includes vehicular access. The park is closed on Tuesdays. It is 3.6 miles (5.8 kilometers) from downtown Annapolis and the nearest bus stop is on the Brown line.
