Stayed a few years ago and was amazing looking a bit tired now. Room ok, no fridge, wonky TV stand just generally tired compared to previous. Feel paid reasonable price but would have complained had I paid more. Excellent location though. Didn't use bar etc so can't comment on other facilities. Parking limited but reasonable price especially for location. Staff excellent very friendly and efficient service.

The room on first inspection was fine. Clean room, lovely comfy bed (we had a standard double) only staying one night so the room met our needs for the amount of time we spent in it. Lovely clean shower, bed linen also clean and crisp. Room tea and coffee was a good supply. However the mini bar was steep! The corner of the room nearest the largest window was soaked with water, and the room to be fair smelt like condensation.. I like to think this was an oversight on the overall hotel as it was lovely. Don’t let this deter your stay.

Great hotel in Chester
Hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the city centre. The hotel was clean and carpets were being replaced in the corridors and rooms. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant on the 5th floor we're both good.

Gorgeous Place to Stay
We’ve stayed at this hotel in Chester twice now and loved both visits! It’s clean, cosy, the rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfortable. Shower is lovely and we had everything we needed in the room (shampoo, hair dryer, iron, etc). Check in and check out is easy and we’ve never had any trouble with noise outside or from other guests. The breakfast was also wonderful and so filling. The parking in the hotel is handy, but a little pricey at £12.50, but this time we parked opposite the hotel in the public car park and that was a little cheaper. Some hotels in Chester don’t have any parking so this is still a bonus! ABode has become our go-to hotel when we visit Chester, especially since it’s so close to the centre too, would definitely recommend to anyone!

Overnight Christmas stay
Easy check-in and check-out. Arrived early and were able to secure car parking space - charged £12.50 even though notices 'read' charge £10 (Sun-Thu) - did mention this at check-in but receptionist didnt comment so assumed parking charges had increased. Nice large room with racecourse view although furniture 'tired' (very scratched and iron burn marks on dressing table) - disappointing as we had paid extra for a deluxe room and expected more luxury in 4 star hotel. Had meal in Bistro in evening - service was excellent to start with but had to wait quite some time for main course which meant didnt bother with pudding. NB: There was a large group booking in and with it being Christmas Eve we didnt say anything as appreciate the staff were doing there best.

We had an amazing stay. One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Rooms are so nice and very clean. The bed was huge. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here and so close the Chester shopping.

Had to wait at the bar for 30 minutes to be served on Christmas Eve.And every upset on Christmas Day night there was no bar open,we were told there was room service but could find any menu’s in the room,nether the number to ring for reception.There was only one bath towel no hand towels.stayed here a few times this year ,wound not be staying again.

Fabulous location, lovely and clean and staff very pleasant. Only one door key given which was problem for using lift separately. Bad nights sleep as water was running in toilet all night and lots of noise from party on floor above. Views from room lovely

The hotel is 4 star and this reflected in the limited menu. We paid £140 for an evening meal. Inc wine. Initial issue at reception regarding prepaid breakfast plus they needed £50 deposit on a credit card?? I used a debit card which was frowned at. The morning staff were different. Very welcoming. At breakfast staff did pay more attention to particular residents which infuriated us at times. Especially when, on our last morning on of the waitresses practically threw herself at a business man.

Never again! £18 for breakfast with no beans/toast
We added breakfast to our stay for convenience, this was a big mistake. Was given a times slot for breakfast for us to wait 30 minutes to be seated?!! When the ‘ breakfast’ arrived it was cold and below average. For £18 each I would have expected beans and toeast with the full English. Absolutely pathetic We will not be staying her again and from talking it other people on that morning they won’t be either. Disgrace to the city.
