The hotel cancelled our booking before we even arrived! We tried checking in at the time we had informed them - 11.00 p.m. - but they said we should have checked in before 6.00 p.m. How could we do that when our flight hadn't even arrived in Calcutta! WARNING - do not use this hotel - they may randomly cancel your booking.

Awkward design and layout. The idea of having a wardrobe stuck within the washroom seemed strange. The staff were very helpful but the room was not ready for us when we arrived. But the layout is what was the most unattractive.

Always a pleasure to stay at
Very professional and comfortable to be around staff. They even changed our room on the first day of our stay when we did not fancy the first room - these things are why we prefer this hotel above others. The staff are genuinely the most helpful, and cheerful that I've come across.

Two of us booked a room and they provided us with a single towel and no hand towels. There wasn’t even soap/body wash in the bathroom. The bathroom was dirty. The breakfast buffet was subpar. One of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had.

Cleanliness is suspect....you cannot walk inside the room without footwear. The bathroom stinks. The breakfast is rudimentary. I will not stay at this place again. The HOJO brand is seriously compromised.

Lot of things do not work… remote, tissues are less, clock, curtains. I feel the charges are too much for this hotel. The pain point is the hotel is inside a complex and late night gaye are monitored by a guard who will ask where you need to go

Mosquitoes in room ruined this for us
We arrived very late at night and we're exhausted after an international flight. The hotel did have a driver waiting for us at the airport. But on reaching the hotel, it was weird because the driver seemed to be hanging around waiting for us to pay him. We had a discussion on check in about breakfast, desk attendant said we didn't have breakfast included. We had to show him our booking that showed that we did have breakfast. Our room, #115, looked spacious and comfortable. But, then, we realized how many mosquitoes were in there. Mosquitoes made getting any sleep very difficult. There was also a small spider in the bathroom. Omelet at breakfast was quite good. Then after we had ordered an Uber to get us back to the airport, the reception told us that our airport transfers were included.

very bad service , reached 10.30 want to order fish & chips for a quick bite the person replied that he will check with chef and come back . Didn’t respond for 20 min again I called and he was suggesting dal & rice . Next day started early 7.30 in Breakfast Hall the staff were too busy in chatting with out bothering about customer orders . Too noisy discussion among staff.

The property is located in a way which is tough to find even by google maps. No mention of hotel name on roads and no guidance or direction for hotel available. Even at 2am on honking, the gatekeeper did not open the gate. I had to call the hotel reception for help to enter hotel. Now, the rooms feel like a 2star type with worst view. The bathroom sliding doors were jammed, room in general felt like a cheap hotel. Complimentary Breakfast was ok ok. Overall i would not recommend this hotel especially for the price they are asking.

cheap American comfort but needs updating
Overall the stay was comfortable and the staff was professional and helpful and breakfast was filling. The hotel is difficult to find since there is no sign or direction at the front of the street. Had to call the hotel to have someone come to the gate and open it. Originally given a smoking room even though booking was for non-smoking room. Upon request the room was changed immediately. The room needs updating and good cleaning. The room was little damp and had moldy smell.

Firstly , location is really confusing and I couldn't figure out until an hour , had to call the hotel . Breakfast buffet is really not worth it ...Noisy rooms with noisy people...services were good overall but I won't stay here again... Thank you !!
