Although this place is pretty unremarkable, I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing. It’s OK, and that’s fine. The best part is the location. And if you are someone who likes to walk when travelling, this is a great place as a home base.

Very clean, comfortable and noise free room. Check in was quick, staff friendly and helpful. Room service good and quick. One prep was too spicy but gave us free ice cream to make up for it. Check out quick. Overall would definitely recommend!

This place doesn’t look or feel like the photos they have uploaded on travel sites. The bedrooms are dirty and stink of mold and mildew. Not a clean place for western travelers.

Overall a nice place
Hotel is great and included breakfast was very good. The air conditioner seemed like it was a bit dirty. I had pretty strong sinus problems while in the room, but really was only in there to sleep. The a/c blows right on your bed. Other than that the room was clean and the hote staff were fine.

Inconvenience in using WIFI
During my two-night stay with Hotel Casa Fortuna, I recall I need to remind the reception staff about five times to reset my room wifi’ as ‘data limit has been exceeded’. I have stayed in five hotels during the three weeks tour and this is the only hotel that kept the ‘data limit’ for wifi and it seems to last for only two hours.

Some of the other guests on my floor were smoking. When I reported this to the staff, they followed-up with those guests in question and also brought me an air purifier. Excellent customer service! Also, the breakfast spread is very tasty.

Worth your money
This hotel was very good. Reception was always smiling and ready to help. Room was clean and neat. At night slightly noisy from traffic and within the building. Very central. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great.

Very comfortable room. Front desk staff extremely helpful with touring recommendations. Tasty cuisine in restaurant. Only issue was with wifi having a daily cap on data transfer, which is resolved by a call to front desk. Still, it's inconvenient and unnecessary.

Nice hotel in city centre
I stayed with my parents for 4 days. The restaurant (Casa Kitchen) in hotel is very nice. Staff is polite and courteous specially the support staff (e.g. Raju da, non-front desk staff). Some of the front desk staff (2 ladies) were also helpful. Breakfast spread was nice as well.

Perfectly satisfied
I stayed three nights at the Casa Fortuna before joining my group tour at another hotel and everything was fine. The hotel restaurant, Casa Kitchen, is located in the building and the included breakfast is very good. I also ate several other meals in the restaurant and the food was very good. I eat mostly vegetarian and the restaurant only serves vegetarian food was was fine with me. The metro station is only about a ten minute or less walk away from the hotel which is convenient. I am going back to Kolkata in November to join up with another tour and will stay at Casa Fortuna for the days prior to joining the tour.

Fantastic service
I spent a week at Casa Fortuna with several friends and we had a terrific experience. The staff was great, particularly in the restaurant. They took very good care of us, even anticipating our needs a couple of times. I would definitely stay here again.

A great hotel
The menu is great. The room service is fast and friendly. They don't bother you constantly like other hotels I've been in and are generous with providing extra bottle water when you need it. Its a 10 minute walk to Victoria memorial

Cosy hotel close to Park street area
This is a cosy hotel close enough to park street that one can walk to it. The amenities were good, room was clean. The only complaint is the way the shower is designed. There is no barrier between the shower and the surrounding area which tends to spill the water over the bathroom. I would definitely stay here again.

Noise and convenience
Kolkata is noisy. It is on the corner of 2 main roads one of which is below a major elevated highway. Therefore can be noisy even if well insulated. It says it is vegetarian. Actually it's vegan and the choice of breakfast food is limited If you are prepared to take on India roads then Victoria Monument is 25 mins inconvenient walking away. Not located particulary centrally should you want to be nearer town and better shops and restuarants

Lovely little hotel in a good location.
I very much enjoyed staying at Casa Fortuna, it was an excellent base for exploring Kolkata for a week. It is located in a nice neighborhood, close to good shopping and food options. The Maidan/Victoria Memorial is very close also. The Hotel staff are very pleasant, well organised, and helpful. While the rooms are a touch small they are well appointed and very comfortable. I would gladly stay again next time I am in Kolkata.

Nice hotel much more like Western hotels
Nice hotel close to park street, Victoria memorial, US consulate, etc. Ameties wise very nice and Western tourists would feel much more like the facilities they are used to back home. Food is very nice in their restaurant although a bit pricey. Complementary breakfast is really excellent. Front office staff left a lot to be desired, never felt the welcome feeling or basic details were also not provided during check-in two times when I stayed this year. Earlier it used to be very good when I stayed a couple of years ago.

Very good hotel.
Well run hotel. Excellent and attentattive staff. Very clean.Hotel slightly out of the main area. Shame about just having a veggie menu. The only main negative report was that needing a lick of paint here and there. Would certainly stay again. 9/10.

Excellent hotel-will defiantly stay again
Excellent staff and hotel mgr- they went out of the way to be helpful-the vegetarian food in restaurant excellent-really first class. They tried take care of every detail-down to cookies delivered to your room before bedtime. Nice clean park behind-nice place to relax and watch the many chipmunks. New up market shopping center very near with one of the best restaurants in town "Oh Calcutta". Will defiantly return to this hotel.

The worst internet experience ever
The room (209) itself would have been great but, and this is a big but, it is very noisy. There is a tall, narrow window in the bathroom to let the steam out but it doesn't completely close when you don't need it. As there is a massive, buzzing generator below the window, it gets unbearable. Furthermore, the room is atop the kitchen. Every once in a while you would hear loud chopping (weird I know) and people shouting, and then staff would smoke under your open bathroom window. But the worst is the internet. A web based login system that logs you out every now and then, passwords that don't always work, it's a massive pain. You get the login data only after they 'set it up', which can take 15-25 minutes depending on how busy the reception is. I cannot understand why they don't set that up beforehand, or have a bank of logins already created. Baffling. Over the 4 days i stayed at this hotel, I must have gone to the Reception desk 8 times to deal with the internet. For the price you pay, this is unacceptable. Words cannot describe my extreme level of exasperation.

Decent Hotel in the Heart of Kolkata
The location is loud and intense once you step outside the door. But the hotel itself is a nice escape from Kolkata. If anything the staff is over abundant and over-eager to help, which was a bit strange for me. The food in the restaurant was great vegetarian fare, although it takes quite a long time for the food to arrive and there are far more waiting staff wandering around than customers, maybe a 10:1 ratio, which again was strange for me. The rooms were in pretty good condition, some small bugs and not immaculate but quite clean when compared with the city itself. For the price it is a good choice in Kolkata, if you want to spend more the Swissotel is far better.

Great location, Staff were very helpful
I would definitely stay again. The location was great, with bus and taxi outside front door. Despite the busy location, our 4th floor room was very quiet. The indian buffet breakfast included was delicious. Highly recommend!

Casa Fortuna is close to the British colonial part
Comfortable stay with helpful staff. The hotel was a long drive from the airport, but that's Kolkata traffic for you, and the draw back to a central hotel.

very nice hotel
Very nice and neatly maintained hotel. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Had wide varity of choice from south indian, north indian and continental food for breakfast. Staff was very courtous and helpful.

very pleased in Kolkata
I was greatly surprised at the quality of the Hotel Casa Fortuna. The staff and facility were very very nice. The breakfast buffet with Indian vegetarian dishes was awesome as well as the meals in the restaurant. The airport shuttle was helpful in picking me up upon arrival. I will recommend others to say here for sure. The rooms were clean and the bead and linens as nice as many hotels in the states. So comfortable and hot water showers too!
