Basic hotel. Could use some general maintenance. Comfy bed and decently sized rooms. Absolutely lovely staff. Nothing is too much trouble to help you. Good location to walk to shopping, some sights, and shopping. Plenty of local food options nearby.

Excellent hotel - very convenient for both shopping and transportation - very friendly and helpful staff, and very nice room - spacious, bright, and well-appointed. Great breakfast. Highly recommended for both business and tourism travelers.

Highly recommended.
Staff treat you like family. They’re very helpful and gives honest suggestions. The hotel is clean and cozy, decorated traditionally. I was assigned at the highest floor and had a great view of the area. The area is the hotspot for tourists, and is full of restaurants and other hotels.

Great for a solo female traveller.
I enjoyed my stay at Kasthamandap Hotel. The staff were very friendly, and accommodated me with a room for a small fee when I had a very late flight so I wouldn't have to totally check out early. The breakfast was very nice, especially because the choices were different every day. Also, I enjoyed the music in the restaurant, again, a different choice each day! As a single traveller, it was a great location with a number of restaurants and available taxis surrounding the hotel . Highly recommend!

Great little hotel in excellent location.
Great little hotel in excellent location. In a quiet side road 2 minutes walk from main shopping street in Kathmandu. Right next to several bars and restaurants so although it does not have a bar that is not a problem. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms.

This is such a lovely hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful (although they discourage taking the local bus which is so easy, and I’m not sure why). The rooms are updated and seem to be new. Breakfast is a full spread with a lot of options, including eggs you can order. The shower is weak pressure, but hot. I was very happy w my stay here.

Nice basic hotel, beds are comfortable and shower was strong and hot. Close to restaurants. Staff are lovely. Breakfast is a bit of a let down, we waited 45 mins and it was served cold.

This hotel is in a great location close to the shops and restaurants. The service was excellent. The price of the hotel included breakfast which was a great buffet with custom eggs. The only down side is there was no safe so we had to walk around with our valuables on us.

Nice & quiet boutique hotel away from busy streets
Kasthamamdap Hotel was the perfect stay for me & my husband. We stayed 4 nights before our trek around Annapurna Circuit & another 2 nights after returning from Pokhara before we flew home. The staff are really pleasant & thoughtful. Breakfast was always really nice, food & service was really good. Our room was clean & comfortable & has everything you need. Bed really comfy. The hotel is down a side street but still close to the main tourist area of Thamel. Therefore this hotel is much quieter than the others. I definitely recommend staying here & we will be staying here again next year, as we enjoyed it so much.

Best hotel in kathmandu
I stayed here 3 nights before my trek and another 3 nights after. Rooms are very comfortable and tastefully designed. The staff are all amazing, greeting you with big smiles and willing to help with any of your needs, the breakfast is amazing!!! Definitely will stay again.

Stayed 3 nights...staff were awesome. They found us a new room as our first was on the first floor facing the construction of a new hotel...got a little noisy after a 28hr flight. Breakfast was great...fresh fruit...super friendly staff. Location was great to walk around a see a bit of Kathmandu.

False pricing by Expedia
I booked through Expedia.co.in thinking that the prices were in Nepali rupees. When I checked my credit card they charged me Indian rupees. In that case, hotel Price is just too expensive. There are numerous other great hotels around d for much cheaper prIce. I feel doomed on this aspect. I think Expedia should refund the difference. I paid CAD$345 which should have been ~CAD$215 or so. Hotel, however, was not bad at all. Staff were really helpful; restaurant had really good breakfast choices. Hotel looked authentic and boutique indeed. I'd stay here again but the price is a bit expensive as I said earlier. My daughter was looking for a swimming pool which wasn't there. Next time I'd likely look for something with a swimming pool.

I arrived quite late and was welcomed with a smile and efficiently checked in. Water was in my room.. Bed was comfortable and room was really clean. Area was a little bit noisy because of building work in front. In the morning there were cooking fumes flowing through my door but other than that. They have a nice roof terrace where u can relax. Breakfast was nice and they provide u tea or coffee out of breakfast hours. Nice place

Great staff, clean, comfortable, good breakfast. Stayed at this hotel before going on a trek to the everest base camp. On the way back had to check back in because the stay was so pleasant. Stayed there for a week before the flight back home.

Great hotel in Thamel
This was our favorite hotel when staying in the Kathmandu area. Our room was large and comfortable with lots of windows and views. The staff was always available and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic with a large spread of croissants, yogurt, fruit and other dishes. The location was good on a small street in Thamel so it was close to everything but also quiet. It was an all around superb experience.

Great hotel, the staff are very friendly and eager to help and please their guests. The rooms are excelent with decent Wifi. It definitely has a Boitiuqe feel, not in your typical chain hotel. Great breakfast over all. Really good location in Thamel, walkalbe distance around town for shopping, ATM, pharmacy, restaurants, supermarket ala Nepal etc. Two things to improve: 1. Didn't make our rooms daily as advertised even though I stayed for a total of 6 days in 2 different stays, even though I did request it and left a door sign for such purpose. 2. Had 2 boxed breakfast for take away. One was really bad and the other one was Ok. Overall great stay, very well priced for the location and amenities. Would recomend!

Perfect lodging for reasonable price! Enjoyed!
After considering many options to stay in KTM, my choice fell on this hotel for its traditional style and special ambience. And I didn't regret! Everything was as described, even better! Hotel owner contacted me after booking and re-confirmed my booking via email, answered my questions. I booked standard and deluxe rooms for my group of hikers. All rooms are nice, but deluxe rooms are more spacious. A big plus that this hotel has a really good variety of food for breakfast, incl fruits, pancakes, tibetan bread, omelettes etc etc. Very helpful, polite and friendly personnel. Location was great too, it's in the heart of Thamel, touristy area, close to restaurants and shops, but located on the small quite street and you never hear the noise of traffic. We also enjoyed drinking tea on the panoramic roof terrace. I would definitely stay here again for my next trip to Nepal and recommend to everyone. Dont' hesitate, this is really great place to stay. PS: Before booking I was concerned about several reviews about construction site near hotel. Don't worry about this at all. It never caused any noise, and the road near hotel is paved now so the access is easy and clean.

Stylish and friendly home away from home
We had an great experience with Kasthamandap Boutique hotel. It was our first time in Nepal but Gyanendra and his team always made us feel that it was our home away from home. After our 10 hour flight the team picked us up from the airport to make it fuss free arrival to our hotel making sure we arrived safe and sound in our new city. The team were always friendly and welcoming everyday we were there and we stayed for 14 days through a busy festival season so we should know. Our rooms were always clean with fresh new towels and water and the beds were so comfy. Breakfast time is always a treat to be surrounded by the most beautiful relaxing decor whilst eating warm Tibetan breads, hot homemade porridge and fresh juicy watermelon. Oh how I miss those mornings now. The hotel is situated on a quieter street in Thamel but still so close to fabulous restaurants, tourist centres, money exchange places, local cold store, warm tea shops and great market shops to pick up the family some gifts. I would totally recommend this hotel to friends and family and I'll definitely be back to stay here.

Small but cosy hotel
Everything is not good there. They need to be more responsive in written communication. I contacted them for my travel plans one week before but even after three phone call and reminders they didn't respond. But every time one person will say I will send mail today. This is unacceptable. Hotel is a service and much beyond just rooms.

Very nice room, comfortable bed and very good breakfast. The staff at this hotel were so friendly and pleasant and they could not do enough to help you. However there were a few issues: Right outside the hotel there is a construction site and the street right outside the door of the hotel, as a consequence, is absolutely filthy (even by Kathmandu standards). Some days leaving the hotel, you would have to get ankle deep in mud in order to get on to the main streets. If I could post a picture to show how bad and dirty it was I would. I can't understand why there was no advance warning from the hotel about the construction and the state of the street as it would definitely have impacted my choice to stay in the hotel. Other issues - it would have been nice if the room had been cleaned during my 3-night stay. Not sure why it wasn't. Also, the toilet bowl in the bathroom (otherwise clean) was stained yellow - seemed a bit strange for a new hotel. Overall, I would stay here again, but only if I had assurance that the construction was finished and the street had been cleaned up. I've stayed in other hotels in Thamel that aren't as nice or comfortable as Kasthamandap (and where the staff are not as nice as the wonderful team at Kasthamandap) but I would pick the other hotels over Kasthamandap simply because of the state of the street outside.

Fantastic! Friendly staff and they are very flexible. Requested for late check out as my flight was at 9pm. The staff allow me to check out at 6pm as there is room available without any extra fee. Very lovely and clean hotel.

Very nice staff
Hotel location is good, just next to the shopping street in Thamel. Staff are all nice with smiley face. I like the oriental design of the hotel.

irresponsible attitude
When I arrived at Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel At 16:00 on April 8, I was told there is no room by the hotel. The manager of Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel ask us to move to Dream Nepal Hotel & Apartment (Address: Jyatha-30, Thamel, Kathmandu). After that, we informed them that we alreay PAID for the room in advnace & the hotel should reserve the room for us anyway. But after exprese our opinion, their response is NO ROOM. So we have no choice to accpetance the arrangement. I strongly protest the Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel irresponsible attitude.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our 130am check in along with storing our luggage and packing is breakfast on our early tour days. Highly recommend!

Comfortable, clean and excellent service
The staff at KBH exceeded our expectations for service and attention to our needs in many ways. Everyone was very professional. The double deluxe room was very comfortable, clean, with hot water and lights that worked despite the power outages. Set far down a side-street, sleeping was aided by the quiet. The breakfast is excellent and appealed to our desire for wholesome western food. We also liked the Asian dinner selections, and the KBH restaurant offers western dishes as well. I would stay at KBH again the next time I visit Kathmandu.

An excellent experience
My budget was not large formy trip to Nepal, but I was treated like a quern at this hotel. The service was outstanding, the staff was very kind and accomodating. The decorations are artistic and authentic, and each room is hand painted with a Nepalese-themed mural on the wall or celing. I enjoyed coffees on the roof top and the Garden of Dreams is a short walk away. The hotel manager provided me with a guide to see the main temples if Kathmandu and set up a trekking/ paragliding tour with a partnered adventure tour company, all at a reasonable price. The biggest perk is the delicious buffet brrakfast included, with kutumba music playing in the background as you eat, and Fren's kitchen for dinners, a few steps away. I would definitely come here again!!

Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel is a GEM
Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel had perfection down to a science. From the most courteous, attentive staff to my hotel room being immaculately clean and meticulously pretty. It is situated in a lovely area of Thamel. I enjoyed taking walks through Thamel in the evenings. The staff is so courteous; they were always making sure we were taken care of. They helped us arrange flights to and from Pokhara and auto transportation to and from the airport. Every detail of the room was beautifully designed and squeeky clean. The shower water was as steaming hot as I wanted and endless. And, I was impressed by ultra fast internet that allowed me to relax and watch videos as well as accomplish work while I was abroad. The staff as Kasthamandap is the best and really cared to make the stay great. It was a seamless experience thanks to Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel. I cannot say the same for the hotel I stayed at in Pokhara even though it had the same star rating. After coming back to Kathmandu, Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel was a much appreciated luxury.

Overpriced hotel
It is a nice hotel, with one of the best staff I've ever met, the problem is that it is so overpriced. The rooms are very small and the amenities are so little for almost 100 USD the night for three guests; at least each room should cost 50 USD. The breakfast is really poor and in bad quality. The food in the restaurant (lunch/dinner) is overpriced and without taste. Again, the staff is the best and eager to please the guests. It is a shame the hotel is not worth it.
