"Indoor pool, free breakfast and fitness center are nice amenities, altho we didn't use them. Wifi was free, sufficient, reliable. Despite being completely booked with "eclipsers," parking wasn't an issue. Hot, fresh coffee and water (for tea) was served in the lobby 24/7. Staff was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating of our friend's dog (thanks guys!) The hotel is right off the thruway and at the edge of the neat little city of Jamestown. Nothing in Jamestown is more than a 5-min drive from the hotel. Those up for a hike could definitely walk it. For higher-end but not intimidating dining try Forte. For hearty, inexpensive Cracker Barrel-esque cooking, walk across the street to Bob Evans. The spacious, comfortable room incl. king bed, TV, desk/chair, couch, reading lamp, sofa table, footrest, mini fridge & microwave. The HUGE closet held our clothes, 2 suitcases, a large cooler bag, and the ironing board/iron and luggage rack included with the room (perfect for those too lazy to unpack - like me). The simple but effective duo of light-filtering/blackout shades were a welcome departure from the typical awkward and dated curtains. Bed pillows were "meh" but plentiful, so we doubled-up. I found the bed to be on the softer side but comfortable. The in-shower shampoo/conditioner/body wash smell lovely with no harsh chemicals, so save the space in your toiletries bag. Not sure when we'll get to N/W NY again, but when we do, we'd definitely stay here again. "

"This is my second stay at the Hazeltine. It's a beautiful and tastefully decorated grand old mansion. I feel right at home. I stayed in the Mossy Oak room with a view of the river. Last time I was across the hall in the Glenora. When I return I'll probably pay the extra $20 dollars for the bigger bathroom of the Glenora. Both rooms are lovely. If you want, you can play billiards and pull a draught of free beer in the billiard room. There are two sitting rooms to lounge in. The compact downtown is an easy walk down the street. I recommend the Plaza, a Greek place for dinner and the Arbor for coffee and breakfast -- both a five minute or so walk. The town has some magnificent architecture of which the Hazeltine is one lovely example. Glad I found the place!"
