Perfect spot for easy access to the train & coach station and hire car providers. A stop off for us as a family of 4 after a week of skiing in the Alps, before early coach back to the airport. Easy walk into the city, restaurants and an amazing walk up the Bastille. Lovely room with double bed and bunk bed cabin for the children.

Small hotel near Grenoble train station and tram lines. 10-15 minute walk to the old city. Small rooms but comfy beds, work desk, good internet and strong showers with nice rain head. Good choice of breakfast items and coffee/tea available all day round.

I booked this hotel because it was within walking distance of the train station. It was on a nice quiet street. The front desk lady gave us 2 wonderful recommendations for dinner places. We loved the complimentary coffee/tea bar. The room was clean and cozy. Overall, we had a very nice experience!

Close to the bus and train station so that we could drop off the luggage early before exploring the old town of Grenoble on foot. Everything within walking distance of hotel and public transport of teams, buses, trains. Grenoble is the flattest city in France!

I loved everything about this place. It is very quiet, comfortable and walking distance to the train/bus station as well as downtown, all of which were real advantages. There is always tea and coffee available, and the breakfasts were great as well. The staff are helpful and kind. My room was a single, not particularly spacious though extremely well laid out and comfortable. The bed was nice and firm, there was a well-lit desk for my work, and the place was perfectly air conditioned. Everything was terrific. I plan to go back on my trip in November!

A wonderful place to stay with a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. I would stay here again if needed to. Very convenient to get to and from the train station. The one thing I had a problem with was weak wifi connection and it not working on my phone. Other than that, great stay.

Small hotel no more than 5 minutes walk from the Grenoble train station, and thus also the tram system. Friendly helpful staff, who generally spoke good English if needed. Nice renovated front room. Breakfast had mix of hot and cold items, and coffee or tea were available at other times. Room compact with worked. Nice strong hot shower. Small working desk. No issues with wifi.

Enjoyable stay but parking is a mess
First, good things. Room was not huge but smartly laid out, so it felt spacious. Decor is charming and unique. Breakfast was basic but delicious. Staff was generally very helpful and nice. The biggest stress was checking in and parking. They do have about 10-12 small spots on site for €8 but this was not offered to me the first night, nor explained. The street in front is always packed so it was impossible for me to even drop off my bags. I was just told emphatically not to park on the street because multiple cars get broken into every day. I didn't believe it until another guest had her windows broken right across the street in broad daylight. Just odd, I otherwise never felt unsafe in Grenoble. There is a ramp nearby for €14/day and I eventually got a spot at the hotel. Can't really blame them, just know what to expect and perhaps contact them in advance to arrange.

Beautifully designed but not perfectly maintained
This is a stylishly designed hotel which gives an impression of high quality. However, this was let down by maintenance and cleaning issues in our room. The shower head (a disappointingly cheap plastic type) was broken, which caused water to spray over a large part of the bathroom. It surprised us that this could not simply be changed by taking one from another, unoccupied, room. To be fair, the staff did offer a change of room but, having settled in and with only one night to go, we did not wish to have the hassle that would have involved. Additionally there were several small patches of black mould between the tiles above the bath. Everything else about this hotel was excellent.

A very nice small hotel in a quiet street that is close to the train station and public transport. The staff are excellent, efficient and friendly. It has the feel of a very well maintained family-run hotel. It is very clean and comfortable.

Séjour très agréable. Les chambres sont petites mais bien fonctionnelles, les déjeuners très bien. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié pouvoir utiliser la salle pour manger nos ‘take-out’ de restaurant pour le dîner car les restaurants du quartier sont moyens. Excellent Sharwama de Anatolia et délicieuse pizza de Cosy.

Tres belle prestation
Nous avons passe une très bonne nuit à la Maison Barbillon. Nous avons séjourné à 3 avec mes deux enfants de 15 et 11 ans. Chambre très propre, un peu petite pour 3 mais largement suffisant pour une nuit. La salle de bain est également très fonctionelle, avec les produits Nuxe. Situé à 5 minutes de la gare de Grenoble, nous étions tout proche de la gare routière pour prendre notre bus pour nous rendre à Prapoutel. Le petit déjeuner est impeccable, salé comme sucré, rien ne manque. Point positif également, des boissons chaudes à toute heure, en accès libre et gratuit pour les residents de l'hôtel. Un grand merci à la réceptionniste présente jusque 23h30 le soir du 29 Décembre, pour sa gentillesse.
