convenient location. The old building makes for a few minor problems getting round. Bathroom was spotless. Would have welcomed a lamp on the desk as it was hard to write in the dark! BBC 1 did not work on the TV but other channels were fine.

I like the hotel. Lovely, helpful staff. I don't think there's a lift, if that's important to you. Parking is limited, but there's a good car park very nearby, with free overnight, and you can buy your pay and display in advance. The corporation behind the hotel plagued me with endless unnecessary emails in respect of the booking. They don't take cash. And their credit card system was down in the am when I went to pay for the breakfast I had. "May we put it on the credit card you paid for the room with?" Well, that would have been okay, but they didn't have it, as I'd paid via Expedia. The corporation needs to sort this out for the lovely staff who work so hard, only to be put in an impossible position by un-imaginative corporate policies an dpenny pinching,
