I didnt like the squeaky floors. Wherever we qalked in our room it squeaked. And could hear other floors around us squeaking.

We needed a quiet, comfortable hotel to stay in overnight as we had a local funeral the following day. This place was ideal being well placed, clean and quiet with welcoming and efficient staff. The beds were very comfortable and the room and bathroom clean and well presented. The hotel is a little 'tired' decor wise but has some lovely original features which reflect its slightly faded glory. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. We were very pleased with our stay and will return if back that way.

Ok stay the room was nice but the bathroom was cold and the shower was useless. It was freezing cold then burning hot and there was no power. The shower curtain hadn’t been fitted properly so would stick to you. Extremely thin walls and the door you had to slam to close therefore we got woken everytime someone came in. There was a live band on in the pub and it was super loud you could hear it word for word and couldn’t hear the tv over it. This should have been mentioned at the time of booking and then we could have booked elsewhere.

Great hotel. Handy for the tunnel, and live entertainment on the Friday night. Great food in the bar too. Staff were absolutely lovely.

The staff are so helpful and friendly. I was at an event on Saturday 13th and by coincidence there was a live band on who was very good. I ordered a drink at the bar for myself and my wife. For the rest of the night we I went to the bar I was served by Spencer, I didn't jump any ques. He remembered our two drinks and who had what. Myself and my wife have worked in a few pubs and bars over the years we appreciate the pressures in a very busy bar. He is a credit to your chain and we did let Spencer and his manager know how happy we were with his service.

Simple but comfortable with a helpful staff
I always take into consideration the circumstances when reviewing a hotel and this hotel very much fits this. The room was very comfortable though the walls were a little thin. The menu provided simple pub style food but unlike many similar establishments was reasonably priced. Here it very much fitted the cliche, you get what you paid for. And the staff in the bar although obviously stretched were always very helpful and with a smile. Breakfast to be honest was a little shambolic and my English mustard was French, but it was Christmas Eve and one poor man appeared to be doing everything including reception, so all can be forgiven

Fantastic value and a gorgeous room! Absolutely loved the feel of the place, especially with all the Christmas decorations. Really great parking too. The breakfast was also delicious!

Perfect dog friendly hotel close to Dover and Folkestone. Staff were terrific and really helpful. Very reasonable price. Super clean room.

There was a party at the pub below, the noise was unbearable in the room, had to wait till it was over to be able to sleep, after a very long day of travel. Don’t expect to sleep before 11:00pm if you book a room here!

Take earplugs and a packed breakfast
The hotel was quiet and clean. The floors were very creaky, so we could hear every step we and other guests Made. Ours was a Superior Room, but the shower fitting was falling pout of the wall. Breakfast was included in the rate, but the dining staff told me it wasn’t. There was nobody on Reception when we left to leave feedback with. Hardly good value for money.

All good until a band started playing in the bar below from 8:15pm till 11pm. So loud it was like it was playing in our room. No one in reception to complain to. Was a stressful stay.

The Conningbrook Hotel was a pleasant revelation. Easy to find, clean and the staff were incredibly helpful, finding us somewhere to change for a wedding before the room was ready. The room was spacious, clean and quiet, with all the facilities as promised. Our only criticism is that the passage carpets need a deep clean or replacing.

Comfortable overnight stopover
Traveling to France with our two dogs we stopped overnight at The Conningbrook Hotel to break up the journey. Room was clean and comfortable. Large Garden to be able to let the dogs stretch their legs after the drive. Good food and drink in the evening with Live Music. Short drive the next morning to Le Shuttle for the onward journey.

I had a ground floor single room in the more modern annexe, which was next to the stairs & did get a bit of noise, including from the creaky floor in the room above, so earplugs were needed (but were enough). If you’re there for longer stays, the room gets cleaned every third day, which is fine for me. Bed & pillows comfortable (I prefer a firmer bed, so this is an issue in some places). Room clean, with good storage & the usual tea/coffee, toiletries, tv, wi-fi. The breakfast included in the room price was excellent, (from continental through to full cooked (which is prepared to order). Easy location with plenty of parking (free). Staff very friendly & helpful.

Accomodation was good for the money - family room was very big and comfortable. The bar/restaurant however was a little disappointing. Food we had at breakfast on first morning and as evening meal was good, but they are somewhat understaffed and on second morning we ended up leaving at 30min because we didn't want to wait any longer for our order to be taken. Hopefully they manage to sort staffing out as its a nice place and it lets it down a bit.

Going downhill
We have stayed here a few times and this time the visit was really disappointing. The room had numerous issues: the toilet did not flush reliably, light bulbs were out or flickering, a toiletries shelf was about to drop the toiletries onto the floor. we had to forcibly slam the room door shut in order to get it to lock, Although the Wi-Fi existed it was essentially worthless and unusable.
