"We only stayed for 1 night but would definitely recommend the Hotel Sigiriya and would stay here again should the opportunity present itself. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. The staff, especially at the restaurant (we had a bbq dinner buffet and breakfast buffet the next morning) were amazing. So friendly, courteous and helpful. The pool and pool views of the rock were great too! "

"Very expensive stay for not much facilities. Staff barely able to understand requests. No timely answers for queries before we arrived at the property. Staff do not go out of the way to make your experience pleasant at all. Breakfast was below average. For the expensive pricing, you would expect a better spread, but no. Cleanliness of property is also below average when you compare with similar properties in the price range."

"We don’t understand why there are some medium reviews about this place; it is such a beautiful eco resort, lovely surroundings, great staff, you have a view of Sigiriya Rock from the pool, there are friendly monkeys and other sorts of beautiful animals around. The staff is very polite and helpful, they arranged us a transfer for the early morning climb. The included breakfast was very extensive and delicious, the dinner is not best but not bad either. The atmosphere is lovely, so it’s worth eating there. But the village is so close, you can just walk there and eat in one of the restaurants as well, so it’s not a big issue. We definitely recommend a stay here if you’re visiting the rock!!!"

"Amazing resort. Wonderfully laid out, with large walking tracks, huge green area nestled with unusual flora and fauna. Rooms are in spread out villas. Attentive staff. Great breakfast. It really felt like one is living inside a manicured forest!"

"My husband and I thought this was really neat. It's almost as though we were in the middle of the jungle. Gorgeous garden and pool. You'll also see some monsters, frogs and lizard! Staff were very v friendly we arrived almost 10pm our first night and they were willing to serve us dinner! We were grateful after a long day with no food! We would recommend it if you're in sigiriya! "

"My room - more accurately, my little building - was stunning, with three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows surrounded by native forest that parted for a water view just beyond. A family of monkeys living in the trees provided entertainment. Each of the hotel's 11 accommodations is, from what I understand, nestled in its own secluded setting - so secluded I never caught sight of another. The hotel staff is charming and endlessly obliging. The continental breakfast, served in room, is best in its class - lavish beyond my experience of breakfast in that category. Plus, there's wonderful entertainment provided by the monkeys who are well aware that breakfast is going on."
