This is a relatively new facility, and was designed as a modern, high-end hotel. However, it has fallen into severe disrepair. My stay here was awful due to the poorly maintained and/or non-functioning facilities. The only parts of the hotel that are really nice are the lobby and the breakfast bar area. All of the common area upstairs carpeting is damp, and there is a damp/mildewy odor throughout the hotel. In addition, the carpeting in my guest room had a strong damp and mildewy odor, which proceeded to give me a respiratory infection. I was staying here in order to perform concerts for 3 nights, and I had to cancel all of my performances because I was sick from the mildew in the carpet in my room. In addition, one of the main reasons I stayed in this hotel was for the gym and the sauna. The sauna was completely broken and off-line, and was not working at all. In addition, the gym was a joke. Although it was very large, there were hardly any free weights, and no barbell. In addition, the few weight machines they had were super low-quality and flimsy, to the point of being dangerous. This hotel really ruined my annual trip to Chiang Mai, and months later, I am still extremely upset about it. They should really refund my entire payment in full, before I leave this same review on every single travel website on the entire internet. Note: All of the staff here are REALLY nice and helpful. All of the above is solely due to the owners not maintaining their hotel.

Nice large rooms with river view , decor old style but well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great buffet breakfast and easy access to local restaurants too.

Everything except location was great, staff, cleanliness, facilities, etc The location is no good, no decent place to walk around, just busy roads with no sidewalks where the scooters can hit you, no decent cafe or restaurant nearby , only a few street food , 15 min taxi to old town

Had an unfortunate stay at the Centara Riverside Chiang Mai which we were quite saddened by as the Centara in Udon Thani and the Centra by Centara in Mae Sot were fantastic hotels. To start with the check in was a little bit awkward but we just thought the staff were having a difficult day as it was almost New years eve. Anyway, we continued to our room, a junior suite, and settled in. Had a good night sleep, got up and went to breakfast, unfortunately the breakfast here is terrible and everyday it just got worse, food is very cold and pastry quite stale, coffee machines broken and a very average selection for a luxury hotel. The only saving grace was the staff member who was cooking the omelettes, he's a bloody legend as it was the only food that was not ice cold. In my opinion you should make him the restaurant manager, hes the only one actually making the place better. As the days went on it was apparent that the a/c in our room was completely broken and just blowing hot air non stop, call guest services and they said they would send a technician straight up, waited 15 min and left without seeing him, thankfully it was sorted by the last night of our stay. The other staff worth mentioning were the housekeeping on our floor (7th) and also the car park staff and bell boys, they were all great! Wont be coming back to Centara Riverside Chiang Mai in a hurry as im sure there are other good hotels to choose from in CM. Please try to improve

Is an old hotel that is very bare-bone, with limited staff, and has never been renovate. It mainly cater to large transit tour group. Is isolated from the city, sitting next to a river that is actually a large pond.

The good: The staff at front desk, luggage stand and cleaning staff were very friendly. The bad: The hotel is very outdated. The toilet did not work in our room when we arrived and then again stopped working the next day after fixed. When neighboring rooms shower the walls make a horrific high pitch noise. The room itself was clean but smelled of mold. The main lobby smelled so bad of a scent that was so overpowering it triggered my asthma. The pool was nice and clean but no towels or cushions for half the chairs.

Beautiful, impressive lobby and staircase. Staff are friendly, welcoming, attentive and helpful especially at reception and the entrance of the hotel. The dining room is always very clean and tidy, well organized. The buffet meals are varied and always delicious. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, cozy and spacious.

Spacious room with nice ping River view, the water is muddy from the landslide up from the mountain. Pool and gym are clean and sufficient Staff is friendly and helpful. Good breakfast buffet at hotel. You can go buy pad Thai or noodles soup within 5 minutes walk. 10-15 minutes by taxi to old city. Google when you want to go and decide if you can walk or take taxi/red taxi/tuk tuk. If you want to be busy all the time and walk to landmarks, stay in old city, if not this is a great place.

This hotel ended up being much nicer than I expected. The room was big, clean and had a good mix of modernized upgrades while still retaining some of the classic charm. The area around the hotel is busy with traffic, so driving can be a challenge. But if you walking or using an Uber or a hired driver you will be fine. You get a lot for the price at this hotel.

This Hotel was rated 4.5 -5.0.Complete lie ,and scam,false advertisment .It was an old out dated high rise wall paper peeeling,worn out furniture,total dump.I was charged $567 for 6 days .I should recieve a refund.I stayed in Phuket Marriot it was a real 4.5 hotel.I stayed in Bkk at Eastin Tenna City golf course hotel that was true 4.5 rating for half the price that was beautiful.
