This was my first time staying at Taj Coromandel. The welcome, check-in, and check-out processes were seamless. The highlight of my trip was dinner at Southern Spice. I have never experienced a more friendly and caring team of hosts anywhere. I was dining by myself, so they curated a thali for me with their most loved delicacies, and it was like tasting home :) I would stay here again if I am in Chennai in the future.

Used to be great property and get treated like royalty. Unfortunately, things have changed. The check in staff were tired. No offer of drinks. No perks or room upgrades. The room was clean. The beds were horrible. Sagging at one side due to excessive use. Breakfast was amazing and staff were really nice. Too many staff with very little effort to please the guest. I almost had to open the door myself every time while the security would stand and chat. There was no real pool staff and the area around was wet. Chennai now has a lot of other options with real five star service!

We enjoyed our stay at Taj Chennai. Staff were kind and courteous . Room was comfortable. Food was good. May I make a suggestion in the food hall. Too many staff. They were kind and courteous. Too many food choices. Have a theme South Indian or North Indian . The above were mixed with Italian and Mediterranean . Too many food choices. You want your guest to leave with a satisfied healthy meal. Cost of the food for Taj guests were expensive. Thank you,

Taj coromandel stayed true to their ethos of hospitality and commitment to service. Any ask if any staff was delivered with a smile and outstanding courtesy. Chef Dayalan made our breakfasts@Taj memorable - wonderful host, delicious food and such a simple / humble and courteous gentleman Also Suresh @ the coffeeshop is a delightful young man with clear growth potential . No idea how he remembers everyone’s idiosyncratic asks , but our family looked for him every day … we didn’t need to repeat our individual quirky asks as long as we stayed ! Between him and Chef Dayalan , they hold the Breakfast place together. I would choose to come back to Taj for the great location ( although a much older property than others and shows her age), and for the hospitality every time.

Staffs are ready to help from reception through to room maintenance. Club room comes with added facilities such as happy hour, any time beverages, etc which is a worthwhile addition. We didn’t use all the facilities available. The hotel is spotless clean. We were treated with foot bath to relax our feet and body. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Bed very comfortable and good quality linen. Nice to have small bath too in regular room. Curtains left in light around the edges so woke very early. Nice and quiet at night. But some photos don’t represent current state of hotel, like around pool area, which is shabby. Breakfast not great by Chennai 5 star hotel standards. Took ages to get a very mediocre cappuchino. Tried to charge me for one night at checkout even though confirmed at check in that all paid for on Hotels.com. Still had to show booking again and wait for some phone calls to be made. No apology given for the unnecessary wait or mistake. Bit disappointing.

The staffs are attentive and readily available to offer support and courteous. Restaurants serve good quality food. Hotel is in an affluent area of Chennai which reflects in the daily charge. Club room comes with added facilities of club lounge access which serves breakfast, beverages and happy hour which is good. Overall had a great stay.

I have stayed in this property for the third time now and it had just been fantastic! Having stayed in a few 5 star properties in Chennai, I would say this place has the best to offer and worth the price paid. As a ex hotelier myself, this property deserves a special mention. You can find authentic Indian cuisine here, excellent service that has been consistent, convenient location. Special mention to Joseph(lobby ambassador) he made me feel home very time I return. Rajiv Gandhi from housekeeping that made me look forward to return to my room, cleaned and organised. Kuppusamy from f&b that went an extra mile to deliver the food I requested. Front desk staff(forgot her name) that checked me late night that followed up the next day to ensure I get a smoking room. Jasmine the reception manager that greeted me every time she saw me and checking on my stay. As a solo female traveller I enjoyed and felt safe whenever I visit this hotel. See you guys again soon! The hotel's exceptional staff and their unparalleled hospitality set the bar exceedingly high. Our check-in, handled by Kalpana and her proficient team, was seamless. Upon entering our comfortable rooms, we were greeted with fresh linens and state-of-the-art bedside controls for managing room lighting. The hotel's dining establishments offered a delightful fusion of cuisines, with the Anise restaurant earning our favor. Saraswathi, the host, went above and beyond, forging a lasting connection with our baby who eagerly ran to her upon entering the restaurant. She even arranged to bid us farewell on the day of our departure. Lakshmi, the talented baker, personally greeted us each morning and presented her delectable creations from the kitchen. During breakfast, waiters Palani, Subbu, and Kuppuswamy delivered exceptional service, while Dhanashekar shone during our late dinners. Jasmin at the front desk consistently welcomed us with a warm smile and even invited us to participate in a charming diya ceremony one memorable evening. Her kindness extended to our little one. Joseph at the front door was always there with a welcoming smile. Overall, this place will remain our preferred choice for our forthcoming visits.

Dining in Anees: Excellent selection of food and cuisine.The staff serving the diners and guests are very polite and friendly. Especial thanks to Mr Suresh in Anees for his help in catering to the guests needs and his courtesy. A special thanks to Mr Dayalan the junior Sous Chef for always going over to the guests to enquire about any specific requests regarding dosas etc. Very very many thanks to Ms Jasmine for arranging for an efficient and quick and convenient room change when I requested for the same. We loved the Taj Coromandel. The staff were so amazingly friendly and this was consistent with every single person we met there. The bedrooms are absolutely lovely. We would definitely come back to this hotel and were very sorry when we had to leave. It's also very convenient for lots of lovely restaurants. There aren't many bars in Chennai but the bar in the hotel is really nice. Our one criticism is that later in the evening the music was just too loud in the bar, you couldn't actually talk to each other. But that was a very small point given what an amazing stay we had there

This is an amazing hotel. I have stayed here two other times and I keep coming back here only because they provide excellent service, great dining options and they make you feel at home. Thanks to an amazing staff - Mr. Subbu, Mr. Kuppuswamy at Anise restaurant, Jasmine - customer service, Mr. Venkat & Saravanan at the concierge, Mr. Dayalan at the Anise restaurant and Palani at the Bakery are Rock Stars at the Taj hotel. These guys went out of their way to accommodate my requests and made my stay very comfortable. These are very special staff who work very hard and make you feel like a VIP. Thanks to few more people - John, Ramana, Jessica, Moumitha who also made my stay at Taj comfortable.

Over the last 3 weeks we have travelled allover southern India staying in various 5*hotels, but the Taj Coromandel Chennai is our favourite by far. We are a family of 4 and sometimes travelling through India with children can be exhausting. They welcomed us and the hotel felt like a home from home.The staff were charming and made our stay easy. There is an attention to detail that is beyond other hotels. The food was delicious, authentic and plentiful.We were encouraged to try new cuisine and enjoyed it. I would revisit and recommend.
