Cheap flights to Guernsey
With an island-wide speed limit that never tops 35mph you can expect to drop down a couple of gears and live life at a refreshingly slow place in the Guernsey.
The island's attractive coast and great weather are, undoubtedly, its greatest draws. 27 bays ring the island, offering golden stretches of sand lined by stunning cliffs.
There’s the cobbled streets and gentle hills of St Peter Por to explore, seals to spot, castles to discover and a wealth of other historical attractions packed into a very small island.
And, what’s more, there are plenty of ways to find cheap flights to Guernsey.
When to book cheap flights to Guernsey
Guernsey is a great destination with lots to see and do whatever time of the year you choose to visit. But, it is in the summer months when flights to Guernsey are at their most expensive.
This makes the possibility of an early spring break or an autumn visit very attractive indeed. At these times the crowds have gone but the sun, thanks to Guernsey’s southerly location, is still shining. Indeed, for many, it is in spring that the island is at its most magical: the hedgerows and fields bloom with wild flowers and it’s the perfect temperature to enjoy those cliff-top walks without sweltering under the sun or facing those icy breezes.
The cheapest flights can be found in winter. Accommodation costs are much lower too, but many attractions and establishments are closed and it’s the hardy few who will fancy those very bracing cliff walks.

Guernsey Airport
Guernsey Airport is the only international airport on the island. It is located in the Forest, a parish in Guernsey, just three miles southwest of the capital, St Peter Port.
Car hire is available from the airport and, with excellent roads covering an island just 30 square miles in size, renting a car is ideal. It is advisable to pre-book your car hire from Guernsey’s small airport, especially during the busy summer months.
It’s a 10-minute taxi journey from the airport to St Peter Port (costing around £10) or there are regular bus services that take about double this time (but only cost £1 per journey).

How to get around in Guernsey
Car hire may well be your best option to explore the island fully, and its 27 bays really do demand exploring.
However, on such a small island, taxis are an alternative to driving yourself. Public bus services offer reasonable coverage of the island’s attractions, although their schedules are rather restricted outside of peak season. The Guernsey Vaeux goes all the way around the island, allowing visitors to get off at various attractions.
There are cycle routes on the main roads into St Peter Port and along the coast, as well as 11 designated cycle trails to enjoy rural areas.
Hopping on a ferry to the neighbouring islands of Sark and Herm is also a popular way to see more of Guernsey’s waters and step back in time on these idyllic havens of tranquillity.
What are the must-sees in Guernsey?
The Regency architecture, cobbled streets and eclectic shops of St Peter’s Port make it a must-visit during your stay. Here you’ll find Castle Cornet, the 800-year-old fortress that guards the harbour, and Hauteville House, which was eccentrically designed by its one-time owner, and author of Les Misérables, Victor Hugo.
Saumarez Park is the island’s largest and most popular public park. Filled with exotic species of magnolia trees, playgrounds, duck ponds, parkland and an atmospheric Victorian garden, there’s something for everyone here.
For a fantastic cliff walk try the breathtaking Bluebell Wood in the south of the island. Starting at La Villette, where the outdoor bathing pools can be found, you’ll traipse through bluebell-strewn woods to Fermain Bay. The views are stunning – but you do have to cover a lot of steps to reach them. It’s a two-hour round trip.
