We all loved our stay at San Gennaro Castello! We are a family of four and we chose to stay here because of its great location, allowing us to visit Pisa, Lucca and Florence! We felt really welcomed and nothing was too much trouble to ask for, we will definitely stay again!

Beautiful area but need car
Lovely place in beautiful area away from the crowds. We used it as a base for Lucca. Wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a car though you can take a cab to it. A bit difficult to find, up narrow windy roads on the hilltop. Hosts are very personable and welcoming. Speak both Italian and English fluently. Very spacious. Food is very good. Would also be good for a family.

Excellent character property with warm welcome
We thought this was a lovely B&B. We were made really welcome by the owner. The bedroom was roomy, characterful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room full of fascinating football related pictures and some memorabilia. The property sits at the top of a nice Tuscan village with great views. We think this B&B is a real treat and highly recommended.

Comfortable, quiet and very friendly
Wonderful stay. Dario was exceptionally helpful in suggesting things to do and helping us stay nearby longer when we changed our plans to stay longer and he was booked up. Enjoyed two very tasty dinners for a reasonable charge. Hope to go back for another visit one day.

100% relax in inexpensive Tuscan village
The owners are EXTREMELY NICE people - brought us on a wine tour. Made amazing food for us and treated us like family. This is an EXCEPTIONAL find and very inexpensive for location and relaxing facilities. NOTE: this is not a hotel in the middle of a big city. It is in a remote location so drive slow and take in all the sights and sounds. NOTICE the quiet. Also note how the owners treat their guests !

We had a lovely three night stay at San Gennaro Castello in two triple rooms. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and the location on the hill surrounded by olive groves was great. We enjoyed our stay, and it was conveniently located to visit Pisa and Lucca for day trips.

Hidden Gem tucked in the Hills of Tuscany
castello san gennaro is a hidden gem if you want to experience Italy\Tuscany at its best. especially the hosts are amazing and share their home, cuisine and knowledge with you. we stayed there 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nice hotel outside of Florence
We decided to stay here for one night heading out of Florence, as we wanted to get up early to visit a Pisa before we drove to our next stop in France. We were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly host Dario who spoke very good English which was a pleasant surprise.

Awesome B&B out in the country
What an awesome place. Recommend doing the cooking experience. We had such a great time. Everything was outstanding, except the beds are a bit stiff. Food was great and we felt like friends not people staying there. Amazing!!

Ho prenotato per conto dei miei genitori quindi scrivo da parte loro. Il luogo è incantevole, paradisiaco, assolutamente tranquillo è immerso nella natura Toscana, in un piccolo borghetto. Il castello è propio come nelle foto, particolare, ordinato, pulito e rustico. Il personale è assolutamente cordiale e disponibile. Consiglio vivamente a tutti un pernottamento anche solo per staccare la spina per una notte.

Superbe site, avec vue panoramique imprenable. Hôtes très accueillants, Dario et Marie. État des chambres impeccable qui soulignent un grand professionnalisme et un respect notable pour les résidents. Nous avons été impressionnés par l'album photos de Dario avec le monde du foot ⚽️ et du basket affiché en salle à manger.

verso Lucca...... una pausa in totale relax
In questo B&B nei pressi di Lucca (circa una trentina di chilometri), situato in collina in una bellissima posizione, abbiamo trovato un ambiente confortevole dal sapore antico e poetico impreziosito dalla simpatia e gentilezza dei titolari.... veramente bravi ... ci è piaciuto molto

Ruhige Lage! Kein Autolärm.
Die Unterkunft wird sehr familiär geführt. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber gut. Man kann gut schlafen, da es sehr ruhig ist.

Il turista da spennare: soggiorno orribile
Purtroppo è il classico caso in cui pensi di pagare per una stanza caratteristica,ben arredata e confortevole e ti ritrovi in un tugurio. Arriviamo al b&b in tarda serata e il proprietario ci ha dato indicazioni per raggiungere la nostra stanza ubicata in un altro posto,non al b&b. All'arrivo ci aspettano 2 persone, non personale del b&b ma semplicemente i vicini di casa,che ci fanno entrare in questa brutta palazzina. Entriamo e ci troviamo in un appartamentino con 2 stanze, di cui una occupata da un signore (state tranquilli, è una brava persona!) e l'altra per noi. La porta d'ingresso principale non si chiude,mentre per la stanza abbiamo la classica chiave che apre tutte le stanze...ma per fortuna l'altro ospite è una brava persona. Il problema è che il proprietario non ci aveva avvertito che avremmo dormito con uno sconosciuto, almeno a saperlo! Entriamo in camera e ci troviamo di fronte ad una stanza triste, arredata alla bene e meglio: soffitto con muffa, la testiera del letto in velluto scolorito ed impolverato, i mobili vecchi in legno impolverati,il copriletto rosa plastica con bruciature di sigaretta ed il bagno con mobili arrabattati. Ma la cosa migliore sono state le cimici sulle tende (poco meno di 10!) e la temperatura gelata della stanza. Per risolvere,le tende sono state buttate fuori dalla finestra. La temperatura invece è quella e ce la siamo tenuta (condizionatori no?!?). Risultato raffreddore al mattino e il proprietario non ci ha nemmeno salutato. 90€ !!!

Salve vi prego di togliere questa recensione visto che non si tratta della nostra struttura. Visto che eravamo al completo vi abbiamo indicato un altra struttura vicina ma non abbiamo niente a che vedere con questa proprieta' in quanto non e' nostra. Pertanto vi prego di cancellare questa recensione o di farla con il nome di questa struttura che ripeto non e' nosra ne' gestita da noi. Grazie mille.

Kleines Schmuckstück
Nachdem wir das Hotel gefunden haben haben wir uns gleich wohlgefühlt. Von außen sieht es aus wie aus eine Bilderbuch. Oben vom Parkplatz hat man eine tolle Aussicht. Unser Zimmer war sauber und groß. Wir wurden toll empfangen und haben uns als Gast sehr wohlgefühlt. Die anderen Gäste waren international sehr gemischt. Wenn wir uns morgens für das Abendessen angemeldet haben konnten wir uns etwas wünschen was wir essen möchten, das war super. Aber auch spontan haben wir etwas Leckeres bekommen. Von dort aus konnten wir viele Städte und Aktivotäten guz mit drm Auto errrichen. Insgesamt ein sehr schnuckeliges , schönes B&B , das ich gerne wieder besuchen möchte. :-)

Hermoso lugar. Retirado pero cerca de todo. Habitacion amplia, comoda y de calidad. Dario, dueño del hotel es un excelente anfitrion. Te hace sentir como en tu casa y cocina maravillosamente. Te orienta para visitar lugares con mucho conocimiento. A mi me gusta conducir por lo q volveria sin dudas. Eso si.... Dario tiene q mejorar en la play!!!!

Disponibilità e sistemazione ottimi.
Abbiamo passato una sola notte nell'appartamento a noi assegnato. I proprietari sono stati disponibilissimi venendo in contro a tutte le nostre esigenze per l'arrivo (dopo la mezzanotte) e per la partenza. L'appartamento era molto bello ed e' stato quasi un peccato averci dormito una sola notte. Un po' tortuoso l'arrivo dall'autostrada ma avendo le idee chiare (il navigatore da solo non basta, meglio chiedere ai proprietari) risulta ben collegato con Lucca. In definitiva una sistemazione ottima, anche per un soggiorno prolungato.

Wer Ruhe sucht, wird sie dort gfinden.
Sehr freundliches Gastgeberehepaar. Das Zimmer ist sehr liebevoll im alten Stil des Gebäudes renoviert. Die Beleuchtung des Zimmers ist mangelhaft. Durch zusätzliche Beleuchtung wäre auch das Bad besser zu nutzen. Die Abgeschiedenheit in den Bergen ist für Ruhesuchende bestens geeignet.

Abbiamo soggiornato due giorni al b&b san Gennaro al castello. Inizialmente la posizione un po' distante dal centro abitato di capannori ci sembrava scomoda invece grazie al clima familiare, al silenzio e al relax del posto e' stata una vacanza molto piacevole e rilassante.

First of all we have 6 rooms and as we told you at your arrival we have a/c only in the suites but you didn't want to pay € 10 upgrade to a suite. Lucca is at only 14km and if you weren't happy you could have cancelled....I wish we could rate the guests sometimes!!

Prima verblijf. De locatie van de B&B is wel behoorlijk ver uit de buurt van een stad. De host is erg spraakzaam. Het gemis van een tuin met of zonder zwembad is groot.
