Right next to the A38, so convenient for Plymouth or Exeter, for example. Lovely setting, quiet, friendly and a lovely room. I didn’t eat or drink there, but the provided me with a breakfast bag as I had to leave early. Near a national trust site (the abbey, I think) and I expect a good base to explore the region as right on the edge of Dartmoor, I think and not too far from the south coast

Stylish stay with ‘cosy room’
A lovely location, stylish interiors and cosy rooms. Our room was compact and had all we needed for comfort, however the bathroom was tiny and made washing etc very awkward and uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful on the whole but for a hotel and restaurant - seemed to lack training in the basic customer service do’s and don’ts. A good selection of food on the menu and breakfast was well presented with a good range including healthy and vegetarian options. I did notice some dirt that had carried into the reception area (on shoes) that was still there at end of the next day as we left. On the whole a relaxing and comfortable stay here with some food and drink to savour.
