I was visiting NYC only for one night, and I could not be happier about the choice of hotel. It is within walking distance to Rockefeller, Times square, railroad stations (which I used) and many more. The staff is super friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. The room may be big enough for 2 persons, but not for more than that.
Overall, excellent choice.
I have been to New York 5 times in the last 7 years. each time staying at 4 & 5 star hotels in Times Square and Soho. The Distrikt Hotel we will be returning to, no question. Its a good location for Times Square, Bryant Park etc. the hotel has water in reception for you to grab a drink when needed, plus tea/coffee. FREE. The restaurant although small was lovely and offers free nibbles in the evening upto 8pm along with Happy Hour. Try white sangria $5. (happy hour) along with wine/bottle beer. Breakfast is not a rip off, It's lovely and you can choose different options. I have stayed in the big name hotels and although lovely they have cost a fortune. This hotel is just as good. Aprrox 6 rooms to a floor and 30 ish floors. rooms a nice size which is good for New York. Book here, we will be returning to it. Great value for money. Staff Great.

Quick weekend trip to NYC and it was fantastic. Great service and welcome at the front desk and appreciated the two drinks as being an Expedia VIP member. Room was spacious and very modern. This hotel is the middle ground between a traditional Marriott/Hilton/Hyatt and a Klimpton hotel. Bed was very comfortable and the tub/shower was as big as you'll find in a NYC hotel.
I stayed at the Novotel with family in rooms with Times Square views above the outside terrace. There was no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms however we asked for a kettle at reception and they were brought up to our rooms right away. All the staff were friendly and the hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park and subway stations, overall a great base for a trip to New York
I was originally rather dubious about staying here having read other reviews however the hotel was very modern, my room was clean with a comfy bed and great city view. If I could critise anything would be the staff they are all a bit miserable! I would stay here again.
The Paramount is a very nice hotel in NYC! It was very clean and most of the staff was courteous. The first person that we tried to check in with was very short, didn't explain the $75 deposit on the room, and basically took my credit card and said come back at 4:00pm. She was very quick to rush me away. I just went to the concierge to ask my questions and he was very helpful and everyone else I spoke with at the desk was very courteous and helpful. My only complaint is their check-in time. 4:00 pm is late when you are trying to get freshened up and to a show. Because our show was at 3:00pm, we only had the option of changing in the lobby bathroom and then leave our bags with the bell hops. Check-in should be 2pm and checkout should be 11:00am.
The bed was sooo comfortable that I could have stayed for days and all the amenities in the bathroom were great! Didn't have to pack a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, or body wash.
We will definitely plan to stay there again!
"A five star boutique hotel, clean, quiet and great"
If you are looking for a clean, quiet hotel that you can relax in this is the place. I prefer to stay here then the larger hotels as I tend to experience New York City out of my hotel for things like shopping, entertainment, eating and exercising. If you are travelling with small children this is likely not the best hotel if you are looking at entertaining your kids at the hotel. It is in a very safe area..just a little north of all of the action and everything is accessible by cab. We arrived on a Thursday morning from LGA and our cab was $42 including toll. It is fairly easy to get a cab but for a 2 minute walk you can go to the Sheraton Hotel where the cab drivers are fighting to take you anywhere you want to go. I have been to New York City about 12 times and this is by far one of my favourite hotels.
