We were looking for a place close to Carnegie that didn't break the bank. Well we found it. Super friendly staff, spacious rooms, a bit dated bathrooms and furniture but all were clean and the beds were comfortable. Closets were huge (one could have been a bedroom for 1-2 children :) . We never got a chance to experience the buffet, but heard it is great. There is an awesome market across the street that has EVERYTHING you could think of and a starbucks next to it. I would definitely stay here again. The room also had a microwave, safe, mini fridge, extra sink and 2 closets. I would recommend it to anyone. Just know you are not getting 5star as it is a bit older.....but has charm for sure!!!
"Good central location, easy access to all places "
Attended the Javits center trade show and was happy with the location of the hotel to Javits, heard that some floors of the hotel have been refurbished and hope that my next stay will in one of these rooms.
Good hotel. Windows opened, so there was fresh air. (For the most part in winter New Yorkers keep the insides of buildings like a sauna).
Breakfast was too expensive and so-so. Had to convince them that free wi-fi was included.
All in all, a very good value.
The hotel is knitted out in dark rustic wood. So hotel is darker than the modern white hotels. cleaners came everyday, new towels and bedding. They clean where they can see. Under beds and between radiators need a bit of extra cleaning. Room was cold but no problems with obtaining a portable heater. Bath robes received after requesting 3 times. Roads are very noisey with New Yorkers beeping horns. Didn't eat or drink in hotel so can't comment. M bar looked dark but looked nice. Games room was a lovely extra and free tea and coffee, I would have liked hot chocolate but no option for that. going up to reception was 5 steps. Which are not steep. We have a doorman on arrival and always seen someone to help. Staff all polite and friendly. Yes I would stay here again and would recommend. You have to want old style not modern to appreciate this hotel.
