"This is an older hotel which has been kept in pristine condition. The front desk staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, and the shower was amazing. They even provided individual toiletries instead of the big pump bottles attached to the wall which are increasingly prevalent. My room was cleaned and towels replaced daily. I felt like the service was what we expected and received years ago but which is sadly lacking in many hotels today! The second floor all day coffee bar was a nice touch. Having a famous Irish pub as the house restaurant was incredible! Having said this, I must share my one complaint. The air conditioning blew directly on me while sleeping, and there was no way to adjust the vent to redirect the air flow. I finally stuffed a hand towel in the top of the vent which diffused and redirected the air flow somewhat. In spite of that one complaint, I definitely recommend this hotel. "

"Older building that's been nicely updated. Relatively short walk to the capital building. Pretty far walk to the National mall. Valet was a nice touch but at a cost of $50 per night. Fyi, most street parking is free on the weekend. Some nice eateries within walking distance as well. Customer service was very good. Included breakfast was sub par."
