The Pros and Cons
Rooms are good
Room service was good
Nice view from all rooms as they face garden or pool
The hotel is situated in by lanes and not on main road so you need a decent 5 minutes walk to find any hire a self driven car or eat at a decent place
Breakfast buffet is biggest let down and it needs to be improved drastically as the food taste was not upto mark . Seemed the chef was only adding the dishes to increase the spread but the taste was not upto mark . Overall the spread was also not good enough.
Where should I start from... It was our first time at Sol De Goa and quite memorable. WHAT YOU HEAR OR READ IS WHAT YOU WILL GET...
Acc & Service: This is a Hotel designed with inspiration from colonial architecture, you can see and feel that is everything from the Facade, entrance, the pools, restaurants, rooms... Experience is superior. Amazing staff, I have to say that all the staff were in sync when it comes to servicing customers. Will help you in every possible way they can and are always ready to go that extra mile...
Location: Its quite conveniently located just before Candolim, distance just right for you to flirt with North Goa yet have your quite time when you want to retire for the night. Very well connected through the main roads... One can reach places like Baga in about 10 - 15 mins tops.
I would not call this a Hotel. It is now a home away from home. I am going back for sure...
The overall experience with the hotel is good. I do not want to rate them negative. However this trip was important for me as I planned a Babymoon (pre-baby R+R) for my wife (expecting) and I did inform well in advance while making the reservation.
All I wanted is to make it a comfortable trip and stay.
- While asking for directions, I was misguided (took me 30 mins extra to drive on bad roads)
- Air Con in the room stopped functioning at mid night and discomfort. I did not inform the staff that time as we figured a workaround to off and switch it on again. I am sure they would have done something to fix it if informed but at midnight I did not want my wife to stretch and stay awake in discomfort
- Hotel Wi-Fi (complimentary) never worked for us in 3 days stay
The Candolim Beach in North Goa is a perfect alternative to the crowded beaches of Calangute or Anjuna. 15 km from Panaji, it can be very easily reached from Mapusa and Calangute. For those who prefer a serene and tranquil beach environment, this is the one of the best options. The area provides abundant opportunities for snorkeling, fishing, and diving. Being a prime tourist destination, the area has a number of hotels and guesthouses in the close vicinity of the beach. A must-see landmark at Candolim is Fort Aguada on Sinquerim beach—the best-preserved Portuguese fort in Goa.
