Speed demons of India have another reason to head to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on holiday, as Italian automaker Ferrari has announced its own theme park set to open this week in Abu Dhabi, according to the Associated Press.
While most family vacations cater to children with cartoon characters and rides, parents can benefit from the excitement at Ferrari World. The park is located nearby the Yas Marina Circuit, which will be home to next month's Formula One season finale.
Visitors can expect to see 20 Ferrari-inspired attractions, including a roller coaster that flies nearly 150 miles per hour, a massive collection of its race cars, a hands-on exhibit showcasing tools used during races, as well as an Italian restaurant to enjoy for dinner.
The park is entirely indoors, spread across 860,000 square feet, making it the largest park of its kind in the world, according to the news source.
Ferrari's choice to open its first theme park in the Middle East was a strategic move.
"The locals are very interested in cars, fast cars," UAE race car driver Khaled al Qubaisi told the news outlet. He will be participating in the upcoming Porsche Supercup Series.
