Creating one's own itinerary can be quite stressful when one has limited knowledge of the vacation destination - but a new Apple iPad application just might make the task much easier. InterContinental Hotels recently launched its new app that has aggregated the local know-how of hundreds of its concierges to help travelers navigate more than 120 cities on their own.
No longer will Indian tourists have to scour travel books or maps to find great dining, entertainment, shopping and more. Foreigners can let InterContinental be their escort by downloading "Concierge Insider Guides." The app includes cities from around the world where the hotel brand has properties.
Users are able to watch destination-specific videos, peruse interactive maps powered by Google, search through concierge recommendations for entertainment at all hours of the day and read tips about where to go and what to see while on vacation.
Those who download the app are also able to book a hotel stay at InterContinental and take virtual tours of the facility. The app is also convenient and accessible even without a wireless Internet connection, however, Wi-Fi is required only to stream videos.
