Taking a trip abroad or domestically usually means that travellers will need a mode of transportation to get around and see the sights. This means that visitors will utilise public transportation, short flights, taxis or car hires to quickly and efficiently reach each place they wish to visit at their destination. Car hires may be one of the most effective ways to get around, as they provide flexibility for travellers to create their own schedules.
Indian tourists often rent vehicles during their short breaks in the country and while enjoying a new locale abroad. Recently, the National Tourism Awards announced the winner for best car hire company determined by India's Ministry of Tourism. Many prestigious companies were in the running, but Avis Car Rental was selected as the most superior with top-notch equipment and services.
Avis has more than 40 pickup facilities in 18 Indian cities across the country for travellers to use during their business and leisure trips. Many are located at large airports for easy access, including Bengaluru International Airport, Chennai International Airport and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. This is only a small part of the services provided worldwide in roughly 165 countries that Avis covers, which Indians can check out on their more elaborate luxury travel excursions.
From sports cars to minivans, Avis offers a range of vehicles to its Indian customers and across the globe. Some of the most popular selections in the country include the Toyota Corolla, Mercedes E Class and Ford Fiesta. Some help tourists save money on gas by being eco-friendly and fuel efficient, while others can be used to impress a client during a business meeting abroad.
"Our customers trust Avis to provide them with best-in-class products backed by our world-renowned 'We try harder' service to ensure a consistently outstanding rental experience in India and around the globe," Patric Siniscalchi, president of Avis Budget Group's Latin America and Asia Pacific division, said in a statement.
Not only has Avis won the award from India's Ministry of Tourism, in the past year the company was also honoured as Asia's Leading Car Hire option at the World Travel Awards. This was given due to Avis' wide range of vehicles, mileage program and preferred customer program.
Other destinations and tourism companies were recognized alongside Avis by the 2010-2011 National Tourism Award. Hyderabad was named the best heritage city, while the best rural tourism project was given to the traditional craft centre in the town of Srikalahasti. When it comes to businesses, Indus Travels based in Canada won for best overseas tour operator to India from North America and the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru took home first place for best eco-friendly hotel.
Planning a car hire rental in India and elsewhere is simpler than ever. Travellers may book a reservation online through the business's website, or try one of the budget programs online that allow tourists to save of package deals with flights, vehicles and accommodations. Smartphone technology has also streamlined the car hire process, as users may download special apps to walk individuals through the process of choosing their make, model and rate for a rental vehicle. Whether a traveller is looking for aSingapore car hire with any brand or hopes to try a car rental Avis in London, the possibilities are endless and more affordable than ever before.
