While many travelers simply hop cheap flights to Goa when they want to head
to the shore, a growing number of Indian vacationers are seeking
beaches with a more international appeal. Those travelers hoping to
visit some epic ocean fronts while helping to lower their carbon
footprints might consider hopping a flight to one of CNN's Best
Eco-Friendly Beaches, for beautiful and green beach getaways.
The list, compiled for CNN by the Mother Nature Network, focuses on
the most pristine and unspoiled beaches from across the globe. Due
to the lack of development around these areas, many beaches are
hard to get too, so travelers may want to ask local guides for
assistance when heading out to these locales.
Travelers hopping cheap flights to Cairns can make a small
detour to the Whitsunday Islands where the Whitehaven beach lies in
secret. The award winning coastline is nearly 7 kilometers of white
sand and surf, proving the ideal getaway for a picnic or a romantic
afternoon stroll.
Hawaii has always been a popular destination for summer fun, and
there may be no finer beach on the Aloha state than the Hanauma Bay
Nature Preserve in Oahu. The former volcanic crater has very strict
conservation rules that have helped keep the site beautiful and
pristine, resulting in the beach becoming a popular destination for
snorkelers.
