Many people feel that one of the best things about traveling is the
unexpected neighborhoods, restaurants and other things they can
uncover while away. For instance, those planning a holiday in
Berlin, Germany, may want to sidestep some of the traditional local
fare and sample some of the city's fine Mexican cuisine.
According to a recent article in the New York Times, Berlin has
a budding Mexican restaurant scene that is garnering quite a bit of
attention. In fact, during a nine-month period, five new
restaurants serving up authentic dishes have opened in the city,
bringing the total number of Mexican eateries in the city to
nine.
These new establishments range from the funky and interesting,
to the cozy and authentic, the news provider reveals. Additionally,
it seems like this is a welcome local trend.
More people are developing an interest "in Mexican restaurants
in Berlin, and Mexican gastronomy in Germany," Daniel Tamayo Astie,
a cultural diplomat at the Mexican Embassy, told the news
provider.
As a result, individuals planning a holiday in Berlin might want
to choose Mexican food over sausages and sauerkraut for at least
one meal during their stay.
