The countdown has begun for the summer Olympics, which will be taking place 500 days from now in London. Millions of tickets were made available today for a number of sporting events, and those who want to see the games on a London holiday can fill out an application for the chance to score a seat.
While the tickets were just released, they will not be given out on a first-come first-serve basis. Rather, the chairman of the 2012 event, Lord Coe, told the U.K. Press Association that spectators "have no greater chance of getting a ticket on March 15 than say 22 days in to the process."
"We have got every confidence that everybody who wants to come will get a chance," Coe said.
With 650 sporting events scheduled to take place over 17 days, customers will have to select which of the 26 sports they would like to see in their application, and if chosen, they will receive up to four tickets. Those who choose overly popular events will have the chance to bid on tickets, according to CNN.
