Not a 5 star hotel

It is not a 5 star hotel. Positives: Good food ( a bit expensive), and good service. Some rooms have great river view, The aircondition works perfectly, it is a pleasure to be in your room with a great view at night. Negatives: rooms are okay but need to be renovated.

Feedback

I would suggest avoiding the breakfast buffet, unless you would like to experience long lines, overcrowding, extended wait for table service, and poor food quality. There are better cafes further down the river.

Copthorne, My home in Singapore

I lived at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront for 3 months this year for work and recently returned for 1 week as a tourist. If your plans are for longer than a week try to get one of the Hotel serviced apartments. They are really nice with washer/dryer sink, oven refrigerator. White marbel deccor. My last trip was short so I stayed in a standard room. It was a nice room but showing signs of wear. Being on the 20th floor did give us an ecellent view of the riverwalk and the Central Business District. Very pretty at night. The location of this hotel is very good if you are into the river walk. If you want night life the famous Club Zouk is just beside the hotel. Or you can make an easy walk down to Clark Quay. If the river prices get you down ($14 a pint of beer at brewerkz after 8pm) Go across the street from the Hotel’s front entrance to the Zion apartments there a couple mini food courts there with very cheap and good food and drink. At the hotel, beware the internet, and in room phone. Internet service will be $119.00 for 4 days, and even local calls can get quite expensive. There is a nice breakfast buffet, but I think the list price is $27 a day. Lunch and Dinner buffets, are $40 to $60. We went across the street to the Zion rd apartments and had Mee Goreng for $3 a plate. All of the staff members that I had contact with seemed happy and friendly, eager to help. The pool is nice but the Jacuzzi was always cold?? Not a big deal in steamy Singapore. I would stay again.
