Security Issue
I would recommend this hotel highly if not for one incident. At 11:45 p.m., there was a knock on the door. When I inquired, I was told it was security. Again, another knock on the door. When I asked the individual (not sure if male or female) what they wanted, there was no reply. I immediately called the front desk; they had not sent security to our door and said they must have been checking vacant rooms. Huh??? When I checked out the next day, I once again told them of the incident. No one knew what had happened. Two days later, I called to speak to the manager. He said he had been meaning to call me. He said someone reported a scream coming from our room. Couldn’t explain why security did not say so or why no one at the front desk claimed to know what was happening. Agreed to give me a voucher for a free night’s stay which I politely declined. Other than no sleeping that night, it was a pleasant hotel, excellent room service and polite staff.

Nice touch
Situated in the gaslamp district, the hotel is centrally located to easily get where you want. There was a lot of construction going on around the hotel so it was a bit noisy. The hotel staff was very friendly and the king spa room was great with the large spa. The front office sent us a complimentary fruit basket with wine which was a nice touch.
